For some perspective here, Appy State pays their football staff what OHIO Athletics pays all their coaches combined.

Should we assume then that this means the gap between their men’s vs women’s budgets is quite a bit more than ours?

Every school that has football will have that gap between men’s and women’s sports.

That seems logical to me and I would add that I think for the schools that have football there are probably wide differences in the variances of the budgets between men’s and women’s athletics. It looks like ASU vs Ohio might be a case in point, even at the mid-major level.

It would be interesting to see a list of all of the Division I schools with the budgets for men’s and women’s sports, side by side, with columns for total amounts (and those amounts as percentages for quick comparisons). I would be curious to see it but not curious enough to tackle it. ;)

I’m pretty sure it would be a huge undertaking to gather the information, assure you were comparing like information, etc. Perhaps someone knows if it already exists?

Best view would be expenditure per athlete, which I believe ASU does quiet a bit better.
