How many times have i said Trump lost the election and for doing what he is doing he is a clown. And that he should just be laughed off the stage. And yes there are probably 10 million right wing conservatives that would do crazy things for him. But that has nothing to do with the other 60 million of us.

If i really thought his stupidness was going to last into the new year. I would be saying OK it is time to get this clown out of here. But right now we are still in the stage that after 2016 Democrats were marching in the streets every night complaining. Just like some republicans are doing now.

I hope republicans don't act like the democrats did the last 4 years and allow Biden to try to Govern. I am not saying TRUMP did not bring some of that on himself. But it was really ridiculous.

It's now the new year. Today several Republican Senators have announced that they'll object to the certification of electoral college results. Louis Gohmert said that by not hearing his baseless case, "“. . .the court is saying, ‘We’re not going to touch this. You have no remedy’ -- basically, in effect, the ruling would be that you gotta go the streets and be as violent as Antifa and BLM."

You still feel like this is the same as 'marching in the streets every night complaining'?

What evidence is there to justify this?

Here's audio of Trump putting pressure on Georgia election officials to "find" enough votes to make him the winner in Georgia:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3hrN0cP58Y

Thank god there are still principled people running elections, because the President is on tape asking them to steal it for him.

This guy is absolutely insane. I'm sorry, but I don't care your political affiliation. If you have done anything to help put or keep this man in office, you need to apologize to the world, then stick your own head in a toilet bowl and flush. or don't flush. just keep your head in there.

Here is the argument being presented by the republicans in congress:

"We and the president have been telling the American people the election was a fraud. We have shown no evidence and the courts have tossed out EVERY case because of a lack of evidence. But since we have repeated it so loud and often, millions of our sheep now believe it. And since millions believe the election was a fraud, we must have additional investigation."

Time for some straight honesty:

Trump is simply a whiny asshole who only cares about himself.
The republicans in congress that are supporting his behavior are simply weak politicians afraid of Trump and are more concerned about their next election than serving the country.
Americans that believe this crap are simply sheep that have been suckered by those in power.

I thought I noticed some of BTC's sarcasm in BLSS's post. BTC's reply confirmed my suspicions.

The subject of these posts needs to be prosecuted with this latest episode being the smoking gun (no sarcasm).

All 10 living former defense secretaries weigh in:

"Our elections have occurred. Recounts and audits have been conducted. Appropriate challenges have been addressed by the courts. Governors have certified the results. And the electoral college has voted. The time for questioning the results has passed; the time for the formal counting of the electoral college votes, as prescribed in the Constitution and statute, has arrived."

Here is a potential playbook, that has been used before, and might be used again, to replace a Democracy with a Dictatorship:
1. Create a distrust of the Press
2. Drive people to get news from non-traditional sources
3. Fill those sites with un-censored propaganda
4. Target your appeal to people who have guns, private people, plus police and military
5. Create a fear of a boogeyman, such as "communism" that the country must be saved from, and treat it as an imminent danger
6. Create a distrust of elections
7. After the election, challenge the results
8. Contest the election, demonstrating no evidence in court, and filing primarily frivolous lawsuits with untenable legal positions of no merit
9. Intend and expect to lose all those lawsuits, to prove that the courts are unfair, and the legal system can't be trusted
10. Replace top military leaders with people who are 100% loyal, and who you can trust completely
11. Eliminate any top military leaders who oppose using the military against civilians
12. Encourage "wild protests" (not to be confused with "peaceful protests"), and hope said protests lead to rioting nationwide
13. Declare martial law, and use the military to suppress the riots and re-establish order
14. Suspend the Constitution, and remain President "until such time as new, fair elections can be held" under the sole control of the ruling party.

Any similarity to real events is hopefully imagined.....

It's a real shame that the Georgia senate candidates who ran ads that digitally darkened the skin of a black opponent and digitally enlarged the nose of a jewish opponent didn't win election.

I don't think that was the issue at all. This was all about Trump. In order to get back at McConnell for recognizing President-elect Biden, Trump sabotaged the Republican candidates by delaying the $600 checks, and by making people feel that they weren't enough, anyway. Add that to the people fed up with Republicans willing to tear up the Constitution, plus Trump's efforts to divide the Republican party by attacking the elected Republicans in Georgia, and it would have shocked me to see either Republican win.

If Trump can't win, he can at least break things.

Trump supporters now storming the capital, which is evacuating. Several injured police officers.

I guess that makes Trump supporters domestic terrorists using the definition that they apply to Antifa and Black Lives Matter.

Funny -- "Trump derangement syndrome" was a phrase the right applied to the left. Turns out it applies better to his own supporters. Pathetic what's become of the Republican party.

You guys can come up with all the outlandish crazy things you want. but in a couple of weeks TRUMP's legal challenges will be over and he will exit the way he is supposed to and no one will really pay any attention.

Maybe it is just me but i see Biden press conferences almost everyday and everything seems to be moving along just fine. You guys should take the lead of our next president and basically ignore him.

You just hate him so much you cant help yourselves. how to can you just be dominated by so much hate in your life. That is just my opinion but i don't have the time or the energy to let someone consume this much of my life.

Today officially marks the point where you should be issuing a mea culpa.

Oh yeah, I know that wasn't what determined the election. Just pointing out what the Republican party's become.

It will be at least a couple before this can spread nationwide.

There are now reports of gunfire in the capital building. Hopefully those reports end up to be false.

There are, however, clear pictures of an armed standoff in the House chamber.

In a sane nation, every single elected official who enabled the blatantly false claims of a stolen election would be asked to resign tomorrow.

Just got teary eyed thinking about how gosh darn upset it made me when Colin Kaepernick knelt quietly during the national anthem. How could he be so disrespectful to American ideals?

Even with only 14 days remaining in his term, Trump should be impeached immediately. Just no justification for what he's done to this country.

George Washington stated that what will distinguish the United States is the peaceful transition of power. We can no longer claim that we've peacefully transitioned power, and Trump's outright lies and propaganda network are responsible.

I rarely agree with you, but I agree 100% here. This is exactly what impeachment is for.

Furthermore, I'll add that any Republican who does not condemn this, and who stands for tearing up the Constitution is not fit for public office. The Republican Party is now a disaster, but they can rebuild, if they turn to young leadership with a new vision for the future.

Today shows what a disgusting piece of human filth Donald Trump is.

Anyone who supports him should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

A completely disgraceful day for America. Putin, Kim and Xi must be celebrating.

We will get by.

We will get by.
We will survive.

The President's Tweet from 5 minutes ago:

"These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long. Go home with love & in peace. Remember this day forever!"

That is a justification and it's based on complete falsehoods. Time to impeach. History will treat Trump as a black mark on American history. People who supported him will be studied by baffled historians for hundreds of years.

I hope the country recovers. Time to impeach.
