Circling back to the original conversation (lost during the meltdown of 2010).

Probably won't need them if handshakes fall out of our social behaviour.

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Hopefully not.

Even if handshakes become frowned upon, I really don't want to touch a wet door pull and have to wonder if it was water or pee.

I'm less worried about that than I am losing geniune signs of affection and appreciation. Shaking hands, high fives, hugs....not having that would be weird, and it is now.

I think this was sarcasm.

Sarcasm or not, I absolutely foresee there being many people who do not do handshakes and companies who make it their policy not to do handshakes. When you have Dr Fauci saying he thinks we should never return to it, some people will listen. I definite side effect of all this, right or wrong, will be increased awareness and carefulness of germs.

The original conversation came after walking out of the COnvo restroom and seeing a gentleman whom I had Peed next to....He asked something about the team and stuck out his hand to shake. I politely declined to which he remarked something snarky and I said...."I would gladly shake your hand but you never washed them after handling your manhood"....his reply was "those hand dryers are ancient"

After that I looked around the Convo and found his lament to be true. That prompted the original post somewhere in 2008 or 09 asking for a bit more modern hand dryers that people might actually use. For years it has been a running joke that comes up in places and outright questions when I am in the COnvo..."you still on the hand dryer mission?"... Still not sure the present AD will see the need but it may be worth a shot in this time of heightened awareness

Tom, you do realize they did put at least 1 Dyson dryer in each bathroom right? If memory serves, I believe this past season was the first with them.

Handshakes are definitely history now in normal day to day interaction. But how in the world are athletes going to prevent themselves from shaking hands and high-fives during games? Impossible.

Nope.....Thanks for the heads up on progress though. Thats pretty exceptional. Closest I got was the bar pre game. Guess I will need to make another visit.

Handshakes were never a good cultural expectation.

Handshakes originated with the extending of the open right(sword) hand to show lack of hostile intent.
