...Will Morgan St count towards bowl eligibility?

Narrative at end of season could very well be "Ohio has got hot at the right time, winning 4 of their last 5 games to become bowl eligible" ---- but might a reflection of schedule versus growth.

interesting season awaits.

Yes, it will (if they win, of course).

..So general view appears to be:

9/14 vs Morgan State - 100% pick W
9/28 vs Akron - 100%
10/26 vs Buffalo - 100%
11/6 @ Kent St - 100%
11/13 vs Eastern Mich - 100%
11/29 vs Ball St - 93%
9/7 vs South Alabama - 57%
Bowl 57%
10/12 @ Central Mich 29%
10/19 @ Fiami - 7%
8/31 @ Syracuse - 0%
9/21 @ Kentucky - 0%
11/20 @ Toledo - 0%

Overall Expectation: 7.5-5.2

Interestingly, no one so far has picked Ohio to win less than 6. In my opinion, that is probably more an indicator of a lack of respect for some of the foes, rather than an indicator of confidence that Ohio will be strong. I'm actually surprised, as I expected to see at least a couple projections with only 1-3 wins.

On a board full of Ohio fans, in a game where if it were week 1 Ohio MIGHT be favored to win, it would be very close to a zero line, only 29% picked Ohio to beat CMU. They are in our heads. Even though I know it is a silly reason, the main reason I picked Ohio to lose in Mount Pleasant is that we always have. Since 1975 we are 5-27-2 against them. That's just weird because it isn't like they have been the dominant MAC program in that time frame.

I'm glad CMU showed last night but maybe that's reason to be even less optimistic. I don't know how much to read into that score though. There is a very good chance that Central Connecticut is one of the 5 worst teams in D1 that isn't non-scholarship.

Interesting take on CMU’s perceived lack of success. Since 1975 (year you give as a referenc, CMU has won 302 games, lost 219 for a 73% winning percentage. That’s pretty damngood, and willing to bet that is the best in the MAC over the same period of time.

1975 is the year they joined the MAC. I knew they had been pretty good over that time. I would have guessed without thought without looking that Toledo was the best program over that time. You may be right though.

Toledo is #1,followed by CMU, and it’s not close for 3rd

8/31 @ Syracuse - L [37-21]
9/7 vs South Alabama - W [45-31]
9/14 vs Morgan State - W [41-17]
9/21 @ Kentucky - L [41-13]
9/28 vs Akron - W [23-17]
10/12 @ Central Mich - L [27-21]
10/19 @ Fiami - W [24-23]
10/26 vs Buffalo - W [27-17]
11/6 @ Kent St - W [44-41] 2-OT
11/13 vs Eastern Mich - L [30-28]
11/20 @ Toledo - L [27-20]
11/29 vs Ball St - W [34-24]

8/31 - Syracuse starts strong against nervous Ohio. We battle back but run out of time.

9/7 - South Bama surprises us at beginning but we settle down and take over in 2nd half.

9/14 - Passing game comes together and defense make several splash plays.

9/21 - Brock Vandagriff shows why transfer portal QB was big for UK.

9/28 - We win a slug fest of struggling offenses. Lots of defensive splash plays in this game.

10/12 - We lose a close game to a team that has our number over history. CMU just doesn't give up splash plays.

10/19 - Game winning FG on the road in a come from behind thriller.

10/27 - Defense makes big plays and offensive run game proves to be the difference.

11/6 - MACtion starts off in a 2-OT thriller. Too close for comfort.

11/13 - We go 0-2 vs directional Michigan(s) this year as Walton wins in his return to Peden. Strange calls and penalties type-of-game.

11/20 - Toledo Defense is stout against the run which forces us to throw some INTs.

11/29 - Long 4th quarter drive seals the deal to qualify for the IP Bowl game in Boise vs Nevada in a rematch of our first bowl win.

Final Record: 7-5
Bowl Game: Idaho 🥔 Bowl vs Nevada

MAC Championship: NIU vs BG

9/28 vs Akron - W
10/12 @ Central Mich - hoping for a W but CMU seems to use voodoo against us.
10/19 @ Fiami - L - too much Redskin talent I think
10/26 vs Buffalo - W
11/6 @ Kent St - W
11/13 vs Eastern Mich - W
11/20 @ Toledo - L
11/29 vs Ball St - W

Conference Champ (W, L, or N/A) - N/A
Bowl Game (W, L, or N/A) - w

Total Record - might be the kool-aid talking but 9-4. I think the floor is 5-7, maybe 4-8, but the MAC is bad and we avoid the Huskies and Western.

Think the ceiling is 8-4 for the season.

Congratulations to the clear winner, ou1982 who called every game correctly, except for Toledo, and except for predicting that Ohio would not play for the championship. He should have stopped talking after "... might be the kool-aid talking but 9-4." however. ;) This team had a MUCH higher ceiling than anyone saw.

Excellent job 0u82! The Toledo win really was a huge won and our historic season hinged on it.

Thank you for the accolades. I was incredible impressed by what the coaching staff and players put together.

I did pick the Bobcats for the MAC title once they got there, but did not expect the complete butt kicking they gave the Salmon Chickens. Boy was that a fun game.

I also picked the Cats in Bowl Mania to win the Cure Bowl.

Was a great year. I remember watching the Cats in the Tangerine Bowl in 1968. Only Ohio game televised that year.

Having won their sixth straight bowl this year was also very impressive.
