Based on what I read here Tim just hasn't been able to learn how to communicate effectively. I would have thought that Julie would have stepped in here to help Tim improve in this area, i.e. attending speaking workshops, courses, etc.

This is pitiful for a D1 coach not able to speak clearly and cohesively. Maybe he is suffering from the same issues Biden is.

With fall camp due to start in a few weeks we will all be able to see Albin stumble and mumble his way though interviews.

Shhh, he's on a roll. Pretty impressive streak to blame Albin's poor public speaking on the AD and manage to get in a political dig at the same time.

I can understand him perfectly. I think he he sounds like he went 3-9 and that's the real problem you're having.

Albin has been getting interview/public speaking training since the week he was hired. I have seen the difference. Don't blame the AD.

Not in any way blaming the AD. I disagree about there having been improvement. Aside from that how hard is it to mingle with the attendees and thank them for coming? For Tim Albin pretty hard apparently.

Communicating effectively with alumni, donors, season ticket holders, fans, etc. is a very important part of the job and he's horrible at it.

I would agree that he has a very strange personality for a head football coach. In this regard he's the polar opposite of Frank and nearly every other college football coach that I can remember. That being said, if he wins the MAC this year, no one will really care.

LOL I guess but does anyone really think that can happen? Tim Albin is totally unqualified for this job.

If he's totally unqualified, you can blame your favorite ex-coach (and HORRIBLE public speaker) Frank Solich, who talked the AD into hiring him.

I was opposed to the Albin hiring from day 1. Being a bad public speaker and not being able to communicate is not the same thing. He was asked simple questions at the recent caravan and gave incomprehensible responses to all of them. When asked about recent Peden Stadium improvements he starts talking about LaVon Brazill and Taylor Price. What?

I have never listened to the dude speak, but if he's as incapable of communicating as people are making it seem, it's wild he's been on our staff since 2005. Isn't communication basically the key soft-skill for success as a coach?

Frank was choppy when he started giving press conferences at Ohio. His delivery makes up for it to an extent.

Attended the caravan last night at the Eclipse Company Store. Very nice event. Must say though listening to Coach Albin is nothing short of painful. Awkward attempts at jokes that completely fell flat & I'm not sure he answered any of the questions he was asked. When asked about current Peden Stadium improvements he started rambling about LaVon Brazill & Taylor Price. Still trying to figure that one out. I hope he performs better than that while sitting in a recruit's living room talking to his parents. I said he was the wrong hire at the time and nothing has changed my mind. Coach Boals went to every table and spoke to every one of the attendees thanking them for coming as did all other coaches in attendance.......but not Tim Albin. I guess he couldn't be bothered. And trust me everyone noticed this.

Did he throw their names out because they might be involved in the giving, project consultation but he didn't want to be concrete until the work was finalized?

Who could tell? It was impossible to understand what he was saying. This wasn't just a bad night. Watch any video you can find online. He cannot put a coherent sentence together. It's embarrassing.

In listening he recapped of the major renovations and projects in his time. He mentioned the tower renovations in 06' but said this particular round of tower renovations was going to out do anything done back then including that new turf.

At least he didn't try to take direct credit for those renovations like Julie taking credit for the Sook Center. She can't believe its already been 3 years as AD. I guess the 5 year stepping stone plan is already past the halfway point.

How did the AD try to take credit for Sook?
