Every video of it I see, I enjoy more. She can go cry to Alex Jones about it.

I'm just glad this happened at OSU.

At least that's what all the local t.v. and radio stations out here said.

Correction, one said "The University of Ohio".

You still haven't explained what was factually incorrect about what I said or responded to the video evidence and direct questions I asked you.

I'm still unclear what point you're making beyond "socialism is bad."

+1 Been watching AJ last couple nights, pure entertainment with his fake anger and crocodile tears.

And absolutely amazing how some who have never met me can claim to understand my political leanings based off my feelings of an idiot who works for an even bigger idiot in Alex Jones. But hey, knock yourselves out in your seat of judgement. Next you'll tell me I am anti-gun, anti-2nd Amendment

From today's Dispatch:

"Bennett said she will be returning to Ohio University's campus, saying on Twitter she will bring an "army of gun owners' next time for an open carry walk."

Stayed tuned - this doesn't look like it's going away.

Yesterday's The Post article had the same quote.

Again,as several people have posted, the best thing you can do is ignore her.
That way she doesn't get the media attention she's looking for.

kind of been out of vogue for a while now with CC+, or the variety of programs from around the country. A large % of students enter school as "sophomores", but are in their 1st year.

That trend started 10+ years ago. They're commonly called "first years." Didn't want anyone to feel bad because someone thought it meant "less of a student" and then of course you had the whole he/she, man/woman thing.

Hang around a college campus long enough and you'll hear all sorts of strange words and lots of nouns that are now used as verbs - oh, and don't forget the acronyms.

And we thought lap sits and "faciltate" were bad back in the late 70s/early 80s residence life culture.

On one hand I agree and on the other I don't. Those who follow her will follow her whether no one shows up to protest her presence or a thousand people do. I'm torn between your philosophy of not giving her credit and attention and the oft stated matra of silence is acceptance or agreeing. Just as her actions and the resultant media attention play to her supporters, so to does vehement opposition energize those who oppose her and what she stands for. If 2000 people showing up to protest can energize 100 to actually vote who didn't, that would be a grand thing.

Here's the problem: Katelyn Bennett doesn't actually stand for anything at all. Her appearance yesterday wasn't in support of anything; she was there to record some 'lady-on-the-street' interviews to make OU students look dumb.

But when you protest her, she just spins it as a protest against the mere idea of conservatism. It's a no-win proposition. She and a lot of conservatism today is about nothing more than playing the victim, and by showing up and immediately drawing a crowd she gets to pretend that's the case.

I would like to know exactly what questions she intended to ask.

The one question in The Post article was to name the first 3 U.S. Presidents.

Any college student should be able to answer that.

If not, that is kind of dumb.

Sure, but she's not asking in good faith. She's there to humiliate people.

I disagree. She stands for trump, is an ardent supporter of the most liberal definition of the 2nd amendment, and supports guns anywhere anytime.

If that's true, and I have no doubt it is,that's just sad.

The radio stations out here do some similar stuff.

What I find disheartening is when they ask someone a question and they
say "The Constitution says".

The follow up question "have you ever read the Constitution" ?

Usually,there's silence or "well no".

Right, but yesterday she showed up to a campus in an open carry state without a gun. To ask college students who (presumably) disagree with her on issues questions on camera so folks in her tribe can watch them and feel intellectually superior to the people they disagree with.

Like I said before, it's lowest form of discourse there is; it's purely about bullying and deepening the divide.

And the problem with reacting to it is that it will always be interpreted as anti- conservative instead of anti-asshole. Bennett insists that "this is how Trump supporters are treated on college campuses." In actuality, it's how asshole Trump supporters are treated on college campuses.

But nobody is going to see that distinction.

A longtime acquaintance of my wife's posted this today. This is a first hand account by a parent who was accompanying his child on a college visit. I have copied and pasted it as posted except I've changed the names of the three individuals identified because to are minors. This account paints a very different story than has been reported by various media outlets.

"For those wondering about Ohio university’s recent appearance in the national news thanks to the gun girl visit, here is a first hand account.

Sam Jones wrote this about his personal account of this event yesterday...

'Her story.... is an absolute lie. We were there. I almost posted about it yesterday but didn’t want this sideshow to distract from my daughter’s visit. However seeing it on the news.... I want to set the record straight.

Jane, Sue and I were standing outside trying to decide which way we were supposed to go when this “woman” showed up. She got out of her car with her security guards and a camera person and walked towards the entrance of Baker Hall, where we were. She put a microphone in Jane's face and tried to ask her “Why gay people had special rights.” Jane knew who she was... I didn’t.... and ignored her. (She didn’t want to go viral!) I then watched her walk over to an African American student who was sitting on a bench and she asked him, “Do you ever thank white people for the fact that you aren’t a slave?” The boy just started at her in shock and then went inside. She then walked over to a group of kids that appeared to be LGBT students and asked them, “why they thought queers should have special rights?” She continued these type of questions to more students until a crowd started to gather in defense of what she was doing. They were truly sticking up for their fellow students who were just going about their day until this pig showed up to bother them!

It was only AFTER provoking everyone by picking on minority and LGBT looking students that she pulled out the assault weapon and walked around campus with a crowd of students following her.... obviously angry. She then goes to twitter and posts “This is what happens when a Trump support go to college.”

It had NOTHING to do with her support of Trump and NOTHING to do with gun rights! Nothing. I support gun rights! She wasn’t there to promote the 2nd Amendment or ask students presidential trivia! (Her story) She just said hateful and nasty things to get everyone riled up and then walked around for a couple hours until the crowd was big enough for her “story.”
🤬

(And yes, in case you’re wondering, Jane and Sue practically tackled me to prevent me from going over to confront her after I heard what she said to the boy sitting on the bench!)'"
