31/39 for 471 yards do 7 different receivers. Heck of a performance.

Wishing the best for the kid. I saw Brady Quinn on the Fox post game show ask Urban Meyer would he even start at Ohio State this year? Brady Quinn and Urban Meyer both gave praised him and his dad. Sometimes in life just when things are looking bleak (like sitting the bench, you sometimes come across dynamite) like transferring where you can showcase your talents and in the process set you and your descendants up for an economic windfall in the NFL.) Great story, happy for him and for the people in Athens who helped him along his way!

For as much historic success LSU football has had, it's not a school I think most people associate with great quarterbacks. Most have been heady game managers who are winners but not much at the next level.

Burrow has a chance to be a name that is talked about in diners and barber shops around Louisiana for years to come if he continues to play like he did in Austin. Very happy that he has found a place to shine and show the world what he can do. If he can go into Tuscaloosa in November and put up a similar performance to get the Tigers a win, he will never have to buy a meal or drink in Louisiana ever again.

I only watched the first half.

Burrows looked very good.

But,one thing that the announcers said is true.

He has to learn to slide and not go head to head with tacklers.

I don't think LSU has a chance to win many SEC games without Burrows at Q.B. .

There is the very real risk of serious injury,by trying to "bang heads" with larger defensive players, especially on teams like Georgia,Alabama,Auburn.
It doesn't seem worth taking the chance, just to get an extra yard or two.

That extra yard or two could be the extra yard that decides a game. There is a real risk of serious injury when you get into your car every morning too. If a player is going to get hurt they will get hurt doing everyday activities. If you remember Burrow broke a bone on his throwing hand in a non-contact drill hitting a helmet, and injury that cost him the backup role at OSU (if you are going to get hurt you are going to get hurt). Take our QB last week, should he have been kept away from all other people so he did not get sick before the big game?

Bottom line, some players are who they are because of who they actually are. We admire people for characteristics they have.

Agree - coming from as Carolina Panther season ticket holder trust me - sliding is better. But Joe knows this. Perhaps it was just a one-out decision...understandable. If it is his general approach it will soon change. By all accounts he is an extremely smart kid raised by a coach. While a few yards may make a difference at the immediate time, sitting out time due to injury is the greater risk too the team. He is too much of a team player, smart player and leader. Doubt it will remain his standard approach.

As the announcers stated during Saturday nights’ broadcast, that is Burrow’s style of player. He’s a competitor.

The rest of his “style”, is the buy in from his teammates. Why do they believe in him? Because he sells out. This used to be a sport where we valued the player who’d run through the wall for his team. Now a bunch of pretend snowflakes want a player who will avoid the wall because he may get hurt.

Been following Joe very closely send he transferred to LSU since I follow Georgia where my daughter just graduated this past spring.

Joe proved how tough he was when he got up after an epic cheap shot vs. Central Florida and dropped a beautiful TD pass a few minutes later.

He was also not phased when Texas fired a cannon through his jersey.

He has the toughness to play in the SEC. His stock is going to rise if he continues to perform like he did against UT. Wouldn't surprise me in weeks to come if he runs through a defender for a big TD late in a game. I'm excited to see his future.

It's a lot of fun watching that offense right now. It's going to be really interesting to see how it does against stiffer SEC competition. I really hope LSU and Bama are both unbeaten when they play.

And for the record, there's no "s" in Burrow.

As a Stillers fan ... I wish. Not sure he'll drop past 1st Rd at this point and Pittsburgh traded their #1 pick for Fitzpatrick

Yeah, at this rate Burrow will get drafted in the 1st Round and probably in the top half. Good for him!

In the NFL he will have to learn to slide, plain and simple. Running QBs don't last long in the NFL. Not against Khalil Mack, Aaron Donald, Myles Garrett, etc.

247 Sports and other publications have moved him into the 1st round draft status. Of course that means very little.

He also looks good in a Minnesota Viking helmet. But I'm sure John Elway will want to get dibs on the action too.

21-24 for 293yds and 3 TD’s. On the year 80% completion %. The Tigers scored 42 points in 49 offensive plays. Just amazing!

Burrow is all the way up to #10 overall on this mock draft. He may put some pressure on Tua and Herbert at the very top if he keeps his performance up.
