Dang. Molnar has been a model Bobcat. Tough as nails and had a lot of pressure on him with the guys who transferred out leaving that hole. He really stepped up!

Was Molnar the same knee he did previously or the other? Either way my heart goes OUt to him. Model Bobcat. Inspiration for walk-ons. he ACL, Meniscus injury is debilitating. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Molnar's injury looked like a knee injury.

Williams hit the ground hard but mostly on his back. I assumed in the moment that it was either getting the wind knocked out or a concussion. But when he couldn't walk off the field it definitely looked some kind of leg injury. It was hard to tell what exactly happened there

That's what I saw and interpreted too. Hope he's ok, lord knows we can't afford to lose him as well.

Walking around campus today with my freshman son (Dad's Weekend) on a beautiful first Saturday of November, I couldn't help but imagine a packed (or close to capacity) Peden with OUr biggest rival in town. Not unlike over 29,000 today in the CMU-WMU rivalry game in Kalamazoo.

When my son asked why the MAC plays weeknight games in November, I reminded him what I've been telling him since he was young enough to enquire about why any decisions are made in sports: the answer is always "money".

Should be nice in Athens Tuesday night. Probably in the 50s with no rain in the forecast.

The winner becomes the first MAC team to get bowl eligible this season.

If Ohio wins it'll be a four-way tie for first, Ohio and MOFO with WMU and Bullo.

We will get by.

We’ll be lucky to have a third of the CMU/WMU attendance on Tuesday night-in real numbers. I still don’t see the money case.

Broadcast revenue is more crucial to the budget than gate fees these days.

This. The revenue from the gates at Peden and the Convo is peanuts. I don't know what part of this peeps don't get.

Please remind me exactly how much a MAC team gets for a midweek football game.

About $170,000. You could argue that the gate is more valuable if you could *prove* that it would sell out if it weren't on tv. Otherwise, it's all conjecture.

Am I wrong, or does this feel like sort of a "make or break" game for Detroit hopes?

As even as the MAC is, I doubt that there will be more than 2 or 3 teams that manage to go 6-2 or better. Yes, Ohio could make the MACC if they lose to Miami, but Miami needs a loss, and they need it now.

Any ideas about how much income comes from a weekend game over a weekday game per 1000 increase in attendance? Gate receipts plus parking, concessions? I assume it’s not trivial.

Tough one to call because a great deal of the attendees don't have to pay. But, it does add up quickly but I don't think an entire season would equal the ESPN check. I would say that Ohio probably gets dinged the most out of the MAC schools because our attendance is much better than say Kent or Buffalo.

I just don't feel too comfortable down the stretch not being able to kick a field goal.

LV Raiders lose by one by missing an early p.a.t. and since the pros have a hard time kicking sometimes how about the Bobcats simply run for 230+ yards, have no turnovers, tackle well and limit 3rd down efficiency, high redzone effectiveness and we can leave the kicking to the RedChickens.

Looking forward to OUr trip to Athens Tuesday evening!

That number seems way low and even if you don't sell out, you make double that easy. Hell 15,000 at $25/each is $375,000 and that's not counting parking and concessions. Miami/Ohio would easily clip 15,000 on a Saturday, probably 20,000.

Nah. I think you're right. Let's just win out....

This is a good plan. We should just do that.

But remember that year with Zervos? I think he had like 30 field goals. What a treat that was. Just get it inside the 40 and its an auto 3 points. What a relief for the offense to now they only have to go half a field length to get points on the board.
