Will plug the middle at 325.

With 2 recent additions the interior DL is starting to shape up.

Another Blake Leake type linebacker would be nice.

Enter; Makel Williams

Cam Hollobaugh, the G-MAC Defensive Player of the Year from D-3 Walsh. Small school but dude had 250 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, 6 sacks and 7 picks in three years as a starter at LB! BLAKE LEAKE ANYBODY!???

Also a first team All American at Walsh. Played college baseball too. Originally committed to Akron back in January, before Taylor and Schmitz hit the portal.

Warren JFK alum, where he was 1st Team all-state LB/RB (Division IV POTY), 1st Team All State basketball player (25 ppg) and baseball player (state champion!)

Shows you how hard it is to go D1 these days.

Lots of transfer activity lately, especially on the defensive side.

DL Pius Odjugo (from CMU)
DL Derek Reagans (from City College of San Fransisco)

LB Cam Hollobaugh (from Walsh University (D-2))
LB Makel Williams (from Fort Hays State University (D-2))

Hauser tweeted a Fully Charged logo last night so I’m pretty sure we really wanted him and Pius (as well as the others).

This defense is starting to look rebuilt. Of course we don't know until they hit the field for the first time but after the year Doggette, MWB, Dustin Johnson, Rice, Leake and McNaboe had as transfers I am excited and trust in our staff. It's nice to have less question marks in the defensive backfield with Tank, DJ, Adonis and Mathis back there along with Fleming, Kemeni, Hyatt, Thomeson, Mack and Mundy.

We may not be done…but these 4 players really fill needed areas.

The linebackers are missiles.

By my count we've added 23 new guys in the portal thus far after adding roughly the same amount last year. Do we have any idea how that compares to other MAC teams? The new NIL/Transfer era is what it is but that number really does seem like a lot.

Not diminishing the possible PT for Reagan’s and Williams….but dang….Odjugo and Hollobaugh.

Hollobaugh is a college baseball player as well. He looks and runs like a running back but he is a missile on D.

Odjugo had listed anywhere frim 325-350….new to American Football as he has played soccer most of his life…..try to take the ball away from a 350 pound soccer player.

Even if we’re done I can breath easy now.

Interior D-line was the biggest hole IMO and I think it's addressed enough now with these last two guys that there's a complete team going into fall.

BTW, which Ohio players are still in the portal, and homeless?

Surprisingly, most have decided on a school although most are at the G5 or FCS level. Only 4 players moved up to the P4 level (Weaver to Rutgers, Dennison to Wake Forest, Rice to Maryland, Henderson to Missouri)

5 Bobcats transferred to Charlotte...4 Linebackers (Taylor, Schmitz, Bowman, Startz), and 1 long snapper (Garfield)

Only players I'm tracking who are not committed to a school...
DE Sinn Brennan (Orginally transferred to Ohio from SDSU)
LB Reise Collier (Orginally transferred to Ohio from UAB)
WR Matthew Stuewe

Walsh and the GMAC are NCAA DII, not III.

Boise St. Edge Joseph Marsh 6-3, 240 is a Bobcat. Redshirted last season. Played 2023 at College of the Canyons (15.5 TFL, 7 sacks).

I have to say that I've been very happy with the latest additions to the team. Yeah, we'll have to see how all this new talent translates to productivity on the field together, but the potential is there.

By the way, fellow Bobcat from South-Central Ohio here joining the message boards.

Also to note about Marsh, his dad and two brothers all had stints in the NFL.

Seems like a great signing imo.

We now have a lot of coaches with Western connections: Smith, Allen, Butterfield, Phelps. Different feel to the roster.

Quite the pedigree. His brothers went in the 3rd in 2011 and 4th in 2014.

Love these signings. I'm glad they've found a lane and are hitting it hard. Like I've said a million times, go get me an FCS machine. Theres a time and a place for a former 4 star or what have you - but producers are producers. And in the MAC, that's a nice transition up, but not a gigantic step that might overwhelm.

They've got a ton of new talent down on the line. Excited to see it all come together. A lot of tweeners that should be able to move up and down the line and a couple that could stand up to LB if necessary.

Signed a RB from Drake (FCS). Looks like he was a 2 year starter but injured his knee last season. Downhill runner, can catch out of the backfield, productive numbers and 2 years of eligbility left.

Dorian Boyland - went to Medina HS. Always nice to get Ohio kids.

With Sieh having some injuries this is our 2nd back. Never felt good with Brune being #2.
