Does anybody else feel better about the Kent game with Cephas gone to Penn State?

He had 13 catches for 246 yards vs the good guys last time. 9 for 103 the time before that. A total of 22 for 349. It will be interesting to see how James Franklin uses him (or not) at PSU.

This is going to be a difficult season for Kent. They just don’t have the horses to win the race right now.

Some national pundits seem to think this is going to be Penn State’s year. Guess we’ll see.

Thought we had a big edge on Kent State anyway, but I'm kinda surprised none of their playmakers went to Colorado. That other WR went to UNC. Schlee is at UCLA.

Pretty proud of Albin + Friends for keeping the team intact. Lucky to have such a strong coaching STAFF. Dixon, Scott, Brian, Spense... a lot of talent in the building and staying in the building.

Far be it from me to praise anyone who enrolled at Kent Read, Kent Write, but they made a smart decision staying away from that inevitable tire fire if they're wanting to raise their draft stock.

It seems like a lot of receivers have had career record games against us. That needs to be stopped.

FOTIS KOKOSIOULIS

13 catches for 320 and four TDs

The kid is a good WR, but that is ridiculous.

Andy Isabella, UMASS
12 receptions
198 yards
3 touchdowns

He was a second round pick after all...

Speaking of Penn St, I drove by State College for the first time last week. I was blown away at how rural and isolated it felt. For a major college athletics program, it felt like it was literally in the middle of precisely nowhere.

It is isolated, but next to an interstate. Have you been to Pullman? Of course you can argue that it’s not home to a “major” college athletics program.

Pullman may as well be on the moon.

I have not. I haven't been west of Vegas.

I can assure you, when James Franklin first moved there (after living in the most upscale and trendy part of Nashville), his wife and kids were NOT amused.

This struck a cord. Years ago my wife and I were at PSU for an OHIO game. Two dudes behind us were talking and one asks the other, where is this school -- Ohio University located? The other one answers and says, "Some place in southern Ohio in the middle of nowhere." My wife turns around immediately and says to both of them, "Where do you think we are now?" You should have seen the looks on their faces! Kind of shut them up. It was hilarious!

Prior to the interstate going in back in 208, it really was a tough drive. Now, a walk in the park.

Manhatten, KS seems to be the same way. Closest city of any size is Topeka, 50 miles away. 15 miles from the nearest Interstate. Gateway to the Wide Open Spaces.
