The Columbus location will be at the new Jackie O's restaurant. The Pickerington and Pittsburgh spots will be held as spots owned by Ohio Alums. Ugh. The email just came out. It was bad enough that they put it halfway to Akron but the actual venue is is at a business in an office park. I'm guessing it's an alum who generously donated the space but I can't think of a less appealing combo. Drive almost an hour each way to go to an office park - not my idea of a good time.

President Partner of Pride One Construction in Medina is Tim Courtad, OU Athletics Hall of Fame inductee (wrestling).

What are the other locations? I must not be in that higher-level of donation to receive emails.

Mad Tree is the perfect spot for Cincinnati in terms of location and appeal to different ages.

There's gotta be more to this. That's such an odd location and drive for all the Cleveland folks. New sponsor or construction perhaps? They mostly do multi-family and commercial stuff from the looks of their website, though.

Just went by Pride One a half an our ago. It is only about 15 minutes from my house in Akron. Better for me than those downtown Cleveland locations. I would imagine everything you need will be available.

It's great that he donated the space and I mean nothing against him and his business, but it's an awful location for the "Cleveland" meeting. I'd rather patronize one of Bobby George's hellholes (aka Harry Buffalo) than drive 45 minutes each way to go to an office park.

You could always offer to host it. I'm sure the department could use all the in kind help they could get.

Airport very very close by for commuter planes.

It is worth a try in Medina to see the numbers that will show up considering past years in downtown Cleveland haven't seen SRO type crowds.

Free parking and unless you have no access to I-71 or I77/I271 it takes less than 40 minutes--Oh, that may limit your alcohol intake!

Safe bet it will be a safe location to make it in and out safely. Mike Schmidt could blast one from my house to that location so I have bias.

It was actually very well done. Thanks to Mr. Courtad. It had an real intimate feel less like we were sitting in a bar and more like you were gathered with a group of buddies. Most likely because we weren't in a bar I assume. Anyway I wouldn't be bothered if they did it that way again.

I'm honestly happy to hear it went well and I get that I'm complaining about a free event. That said, the rough equivalent is if they had the Athens caravan in Logan or the Cincinnati caravan in Mason. I don't think it's the best way to maximize attendance and I stand by that.

I'm not arguing. I still think it should be more centrally located. I don't disagree at all. That being said it was cool. Relaxed. Metz, Barlow and Bolden were really good. Personable, and believe me I ask a ton of annoying questions. I always think we drop the ball. Show Cleveland how important a market it is. I didn't feel it was good enough going in but I complain about everything. That being said I had fun.

They don't even have the Athens one in Athens. They just go for sort of close.

Yes, Julie, OUr AD was a gymnast back in the day...Did you know that!

This is the year of 12, Men's Golf is host to the MAC tournament. No worries, NOT to be played at the Dumps..

It will be held at a course in Alabama in less than two weeks.

You guys got 11 years to get that world class layout up on the Ridges.

I just got an email with information about the Cincinnati stop tomorrow on the caravan. It says the speakers will be Julie Cromer, women's volleyball coach Geoff Carlston, assistant men's basketball coach Kyle Barlow and offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Scott Isphording.

I find this disappointing, as past caravans have always included the head football coach and head men's basketball coach. No offense to these speakers, but this has nowhere near the same pull.

What happened to the "A" team?

(Addendum: The caravan stop last night in Pittsburgh was cancelled. What happened there?)

Interesting.

I gotta imagine the Columbus stop will be jumping. Boals and Lamar don't live too far. Coach is a star. They can just jump in the car. Show up to the bar.

I think some of this is timing. The portal has made the life of a head coach even more crazy. This is now prime time. I very much enjoyed Kyle Barlow and Brian Metz. The seemed to be way more of an open book. Both very interesting.

I'm back from the Cincinnati event. It was meh.

God bless all things OU -- and I appreciated the free pizza that was served -- but this event suffered from the lack of star power. Again, no offense to those who spoke, but I don't think I'll attend in future years if the head coaches aren't there. It was kind of like going to one of those Rohr Room pregame talks with an assistant coach, but this time there was no game following it.

There was a mention made that Coach Albin was entertaining portal recruits on campus, and I'm glad to hear about that legitimate reason for him missing this. Maybe Coach Boals had similar reasons to miss out and it just wasn't stated. It would be a little awkward if they appear in other cities and just missed Cincy.

I didn't get a chance to chat with Julie Cromer or others, but I'm guessing this sentiment will make its way to them through the grapevine.

Oh well. Let's just fast forward to football season and start playing games. I didn't need this event to get me excited about Bobcat athletics.

I attended the Cincinnati Caravan and enjoyed it. I thought it was well organized (maybe I'm biased, I won a Swag Bag). AD Cromer, Kyle Barlow, Scott Ishpording and Geoff Carlston did a good job as speakers.

Is the Caravan still on for tomorrow night in Columbus? If so where? The only info above says the sight is TBD, but might be at Jackie O's. However, Jackie O's website says they are closed until Friday. I emailed the OU folks at the email address posted above a couple weeks ago, but never got a response.
