I'd like to thank the individual who contributed their android phone to capture today's press conference. Sure, it would be nice to be able to clearly see the Ohio logos on the coach's shirt and hat, but, hey...

(Seriously, though, compare the production values of this video to those of Saturday's presser. Why can't we have some consistency?)

I do strongly suggest, however, that we not use the same step-and-repeat backdrop for press conferences that is used to protect the lawn and garden equipment when it's put away for winter.

Ohio has won the last two meetings vs UB, including the last trip to Buffalo in 2019. I think Ohio's going to make it three consecutive wins over the Bulls, which would match the longest streak in series history.

I've got a baaaad feeling about this one. They're averaging 209 ypg rushing; we're giving up almost 250 rushing ypg. They hit Kent for 312 yds on the ground last week and Kent's rushing D is a bit better than ours. Can they get 400 on Saturday? Possibly. We can run against them but I don't think we can keep up with them. We'll be lucky to lose by less than 35 pts.

If we lose by 35, we will truly be heading into PaPL and Cleve Bryant territory. This is a very scary thought! It'll be time for a GoFundMe page to raise money for the immediate buyout of Albin's contract. Maybe some rich dude or dudette will take pity on our sob story and make a big donation. According to the UB fan site we are a 9 point underdog.

I think we'll score at least in the mid-20s but if our rushing D doesn't improve significantly they could hit 50 easily. Kent was giving up 160 ypg until last week and Buffalo got nearly twice that. We're giving up 241, so imagine what they could do against us. Kent got more than 500 yds on them primarily because they threw well. Armani was better last week but I'm not sure he or Kurtis can improve enough this week to make up the difference. I hope I'm wrong but this could wind up with the Bulls winning something like 59-24.

These next two games (vs Buffalo and Kent State) are going to decide a lot about Ohio's shot at winning the East. I just have a feeling Ohio's going to split at minimum, or even pull them both out. While Ohio hasn't been very impressive, neither has UB or KSU for that matter. Buffalo is already 0-2 in the MAC and Ohio won its last meeting up there. And Kent State struggles mightily in Athens and that's when next week's game is.I think Ohio is about to really shake up the MAC East here over the next two weeks.

In gambling, a streak starts at three wins in a row.

OHIO wouldn't face em last year so there is that too!

I need some of that Green Kool-Aid you guys are drinking. Maybe if the team is drinking it to, we have a chance.

Just a complete lack of energy/hope/excitement on this board and it's only mid-October. Shows how quickly a bad hire can cancel out years of improvement. (Although in truth, we haven't had real momentum in 4-5 years.)

I feel the way I did during the end of the Saul era. I will root for my team when the game is on and love them unconditionally but I am not hyped all week waiting for the game. You said it, not only is Albin a terrible head coach in terms of his play calling and his lineup decisions etc but he is an uninspiring figurehead for a program that, even at 7-5 most seasons, was a threat to win every game it played. Frank wasn't a ra-ra guy but he had charisma. Albin is just blah. Saul was the same way. He didn't use social media, he rarely got into the game with energy. Boals came in and started using social media, started jumping around, dancing -- that's what excites a fanbase.

Hey, Saul could be very funny. His interviews often made me laugh, not at him, but with him. Albin often leaves me scratching my head.

Saul was hilarious. And the fact is, he's been a winner everywhere. I don't wish the injuries he encountered here on anyone. If a couple things had gone differently, he could easily still be here and winning a lot.

I totally expected Ohio to get about 13 points in this one. I guess that it is about even money that our 6 year streak of not losing a MAC game by more than a TD comes to an end.

I thought Saul could be funny as well. I'm not saying he wasn't charismatic. I am just saying that his level of enthusiasm was FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR below that of Jeff Boals when it came to being exciting, dynamic and eager to reach fans.

This summarizes my thoughts well.

I try to find the silver lining/positives with him but there just isn't much to work with. It's hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that we have a real-life coach who seems more like a character who was given an extreme personality for a football movie, like Harry Winkler in Water Boy.

Albin seems like a fine human being from all I have read but unfortunately being a successful D1 coach takes so much more than that.

As has been suggested elsewhere, this season and likely the next are going to have to be a period of suffering that will be paid as a result of the Frank Solich era. I wholeheartedly hope that the current and upcoming seasons check any box that was promised to Solich as far as influence on the coaching succession.

I'm sure Ms. Cromer is fully aware that whoever comes next will have a major impact on her legacy at Ohio.

As far as Buffalo. Scary flashbacks to 2001 have crossed my mind but I don't think it will be that lopsided.

However, I do think that the rush defense will be gashed badly and the margin of victory will be at least 2 TDs for the Bulls. Something like 49-17 wouldn't surprise me either, with a clunker of a second half from the Cats. Sure hope I'm proven wrong.

Saul was very energetic, but in a whimsically childish way. Fist pumping in Bobby Hurley's direction while fun in the moment, was pretty childish. When he lost, you could tell it affected him deeply. I think he was sometimes lacking in professionalism, and I think D2 or low major is his fit.

For some reason, Saul's last two squads played extremely tight. Overpassing, etc. There also has to be some reason Jaaron Simmons passed up a sure thing to sit on the bench at Michigan. Felt he wasn't being "coached up?"

For a minute I thought that I was on the basketball forum. This place gets confusing sometimes! ;-) But, completely seriously, I think if Tony doesn't go down, and we win the MAC that year, as many were predicting, the analysis of the Saul Era, and Saul himself, would be completely different on this board. A "fist pump" at Hurlwy would not be described as "childish," but instead would be cited as showing his great level of competiveness and enthusiasm. Fan boards can be very fickle!
