What are your thoughts on when to fire Tim Albin?

I voted for after the 2022 season.

The only thing stupider than a school like Ohio paying their football coach more than their President is a school like Ohio paying their football coach more than their President to not work.

If this were a pro franchise, you’d force him to hire a hot shot young coach at offensive coordinator for the 2022 season and essentially make him coach in waiting. Can’t do that in college very easily.

To be pedantic: paying TWO football coachs (one active, one not) more than you pay your president

Anything less then 4-8 I think you gotta do it immediately. Recognize you made a mistake and try to rectify it as soon as possible.

If the lesson we takeaway from the Solich era is to spend more on football, we've truly gone insane.

Zero championships, and a program that isnt good enough to win a few FCS conferences. The idea that we should throw away 550k to get a one year headstart on getting to some crappy bowl game again is crazy.

It needs to be at a time where it is both the right move for the short term needs of the program as well as the right move for the financial health of the department. Unfortunately, we can't afford the move now nor after this season.

We need to show something in the 2022 non conference schedule. Beat FAU and the FCS team, and push Penn State and ISU. Then get off to a good start to MAC play. If both don't happen, cut it.

With the price of MAC football coaches going up it might be smarter to lock in a coach at 750k today then to pay 1 million four years from now.

A new staff would be easier on the fans because it represents hope even if it will be a few rebuilding years. Hope Ohio could actually pull in a recruiting class in the upper half of the division. This staff has proven over 16 years incapable of not doing it with 5 bowl wins and 4 division titles in the track record.

If we have our first oh-fer season since Tom Lichtenberg's last year here in 1994, then we should "reassign" him to some menial job that, hopefully, he'll hate and ask to leave. (Maybe digital strategy and in-venue production.) He's had 16 years here so, even though he got the HC job six weeks before the season started, he should be able to get this team shaped up pretty quickly now that he's had four games in the big chair (notice I didn't say "throne"). A winless season should be completely unacceptable to all concerned.

I agree, and if that's what happens, or even 1-11, I know one person close to the program who could finance the buyout -- Frank Solich. He'd have to admit that he made a mistake, and he'd probably do it anonymously, but he's got the means.

Frank also has a stellar donor record. Been one of the Universities biggest benefactors.

If Coach A. goes 0-12 than he should straight up resign.

Otherwise maybe the university could get Matt Lauer to buy out his contract.

I was willing to wait until after the season, but he needs to go now. It's clear that the 21-0 lead in the first quarter was due more to Buffalo's disorganization than Ohio's game plan and execution. And for the second week in a row we get a penalty from something that happened on the sideline. That shows a lack of discipline and organization. Whatever he might have had at NW Oklahoma St back in the '90s is gone. If he really cares about Ohio football he'll resign before the bus gets to the Thruway. But if he doesn't quit now, he should be canned by Monday. Reassign him so at least we don't have to pay him for nothing.

Honestly, he's a below average OC, but I think he actually did solid the last few seasons for us in that role. He's clearly in way over his head as a HC.

Knorr was a better DC than Albin was an OC.

We are experiencing what Solich accomplished. Program had been backsliding for years. Albin just finished the job.

This was Solich’s team. This team was not good from the beginning and wouldn’t be if Frank was still here.
