You miss the exudous of players that resulted in the investigations and that in preparing for the loss of scholarships the next year they did not fill the openings knowing the reduction was coming, so yes they did not field the 85 allowed in 2012. They were ultimately dropping to 65 which was eased the next year to their compliance and self actions and voluntary reductions they took earlier than 2014. But still in 2012 we had more scholarships and I’d put a paycheck on that.

But visiting teams are limited in players so how many did we have there? Asking for a friend.

And how many four or five star players did Ohio have on scholarship compared to Penn State?

YOU totally miss the point! Do you or do you not believe that giving scholarships matter? To your point, how many 4 and 5 star recurits do non-scholarship programs have? The entire point of this shit show is two people basically saying giving scholarships do not matter.

I've not missed the point. I think scholarships matter incredibly. I've never argued they weren't. What I've done is answer questions posed by you (QUOTE: Please tell me the last time an FCS non-scholarship team actually competed for a national championship? Or for that matter actually competed and won a playoff game.). I answered your posed question that, in actuality, a non-scholarship team has won a playoff game in the last five years. Twice, actually.

Then, you claimed that OHIO beat Penn State due to having more scholarships in 2012 due to NCAA restrictions. We may have had more scholarship players, of that I'm not sure. However, at the time we played, both schools were entitled to the same number of scholarships: 85. Whether Penn State had 85 scholarship players at the time of kickoff (or whether OHIO did either) is not the point. There were not restrictions in 2012 on the number of scholarships that Penn State could have on their roster.

The point is simple: You act as an all-knowing sage. In reality, you're someone who spouts off information frequently on this site without doing a modicum of research. That wouldn't be an issue if you didn't belittle others.

Did I say Kevin? Are you the one who stated that scholarships don’t matter? No! So why, just why do you feel the need to think I’m talking to you? And though not restrictions, PSU had players bolt town and PSU was not able to bring those players back or replace them with recruits. Look it up, the information is readily available if you know where to look. Again, original statement, is/was number of scholarships matter in the broad spectrum of FCS, when you can go from 63 to zero and be in the same division. All of FBS is 85, every team competing unless NCAA probation has ability to give 85. No one is giving 63 and playing FBS! No one is giving 30 and playing FBS, no one is giving zero and playing FBS. 🤦🏼‍♂️
