Got this email today. Interesting that one of the listed options isn't a refund on this season's tickets.

Thank you for your support of Ohio Football!

As the football season approaches, we are working to make Peden Stadium a fun, clean and safe environment to enjoy the 2020 season. The strategy we are drafting may entail a reduced capacity in Peden Stadium to accommodate social distancing, and that may limit our attendance to primarily just season ticket holders. We will be shutting down football season ticket sales on July 1st so we can evaluate our current inventory and determine alternate seating options if necessary. We will communicate again with you in early to mid-July with our plan.

While we are confident that there will be a football season this fall, please know that if the season is adjusted there will be options for you, including credit toward the 2021 football season or a refund option for games that are not played.

Thank you again for your continued support in the program, and we look forward to seeing you at Peden this fall!

In light of the email I got yesterday basically denyng me the season tickets so fervently pushed on me two weeks ago, I am about to lay into the Ohio Athletic brain trust. Never did I think there would really be a "normal" football season this year, but I did expect some clear-eyed honesty and consideration from the Athletic Dept. Just shows how wrong you can be, I guess.

I hope I have misinterpreted the whole thing.

Can you share the email?

The email clearly mentions a "refund option for games that are not played."

Also mentioned is a postponement of season ticket sales after July 1 so they can assess seating availability given social distancing requirements.

Let's all take a (clean) breath, folks.

That's the same email I got back on June 26th. What it doesn't address is an outright refund for the season for those who renewed way back in March before this thing got out of hand.

I got this one yesterday as well as the one that has already been referenced here. Can anyone explain to me what they mean by "general admission by section"? Will they make a determination of who gets moved out of a section by seniority? I understand the concern for distancing but for years the Phillips section I sit in has had very few season ticket holders.

Ohio Football Season Ticket Holder,

THANK YOU for your support of Ohio Football as a premium area season ticket holder. Your loyalty is appreciated as it comes at a time when we need your support more than ever.

The response from you and hundreds of other Bobcats fans has exceeded our expectations in the Tower Club and Phillips Club. As we apply standard six-foot social distancing practices in our new seating model for the 2020 season, we have decided to implement a general admission "by section" approach which will maximize our available seating inventory in each section. As a result, we will most likely not be able to accommodate all of our current ticket holders in the Tower and Phillips Club levels. Our goal is to be creative and innovative as we solve this issue, and we want your help and input.

We will be reaching out by phone over the next 10 days to talk to you about some new premium areas that might be of interest to you. We ask for your openness to being flexible as we work to accommodate as many Bobcat fans as possible.

As you all know, we are experiencing unprecedented times, and with that will come an unprecedented season -- unprecedented not just in how we safely manage the game day operations but also in the end results on the field.

We thank you again for your support of Ohio Football, and we look forward to talking to you soon.

Ohio State has posted part of their schedule so that looks good for fall football.

We must sell a boat load of tickets. Why are we not expanding to deal with the increased demand.

So I guess we do need the 30K plus FBall stadium expansion - To account for social distance seating requirements....

Strongly agree. Ohio needs more seating room to all 6 feet of separation between myself and other fans. It’s the only way

I've seen crazier things happen.

I think if you’re a season ticket holder, you’ll get to pick a section of the stadium (101, 102, 103, etc.) but you won’t be assigned a row or seat number. When you arrive to the stadium, you’ll pick your seat (first come, first served) and you and your family will be expected to be socially distanced from others in your section.
