Thanks Allen. Yes we made somewhat of a comeback. At the time I made the statement it was 35-7. However, this is what, year 14? I am appreciative of what Frank has brought to the program but I doubt he and especially his staff will ever take us any further, INCLUDING A MACC. Thanks again for pointing out what should be obvious.

Let's let the year play out. The team was unprepared for Howard and was not ready for VA until late in the second quarter. This was a winnable game that awry. If we beat Cincy we likely finish at our usual 3-1 non-conference. Which means absolutely nothing. In fact, if they lose against Cincy, it means absolutely nothing. Gotta win the East and then win the MACC. Neither has anything to do with today.

So we've played 2 games thus far and we weren't "prepared" to play until the end of the second quarter of game two. Hmmm. Nearly 75% of the way in to the season to that point and we aren't "prepared". How is this acceptable? Not being prepared is an indictment on the coaches...I mean, that's why they're there....to prepare the team. Our defense is very, very bad. Historically bad and the offense isn't much better. Our line play, both sides, is embarrassing and that is not something that, usually, can be improved from week to week. We are in for a very long season.

Holy $&@? Please check your math. I don’t even have the heart to call you stupid. Keep your post count below 50.

We get it, you overdosed on the koolaid. We can’t tackle or cover, we take bad angles and our play-calling stinks. On the bright side Evans And Ogun-Semite look like they may be next level types. We will lose a lot of games if we don’t stop making the same mistakes. We also need to stop letting people break records against. The pass defense has been bad for the last three years. The coaching definitely plays a role.

Please explain how I have overdosed on the cool aid? What have I posted that would warrant that description?

You don’t acknowledge any truth, the coaching and recruiting has not been good and we just let the third best receiver on their team break all types of records against us and you don’t believe one coach is accountable, look I drank the koolaid too, I thought we were going 12-0, but I am sober now, get sober my friend.

Where did I say not one coach is responsible? You said the entire staff should be fired. Other than Solich who I guess you “Like”. I have plenty of things I could complain about. But I grew up a long time ago. I don’t argue with everyone’s criticisms of the coaching or play. Just ignorant generalization’s like yours. If you made more grown up and intelligent criticisms I wouldn’t argue.

I did not say that, I said I like FS but the rest of them can go in the heat of the moment. FS should be ultimately accountable if we keep doing the same things.

You did not say what allen? You did not say the entire staff other than Solich should go? Now you’re just being a baby. Like I said. Don’t try to defend that statement because it has no merit. Maybe you shouldn’t post in the heat of the moment if you have no control of yourself.

Listen mr. Cerebral, the coaching is below average and people calling for heads may be a little premature, but they are better than the people who want to throw them a parade.

Who called for a parade? I called you out for your rediculous comment. Period. God you’re a baby.

A lot of disappointed rhetoric in this message trail. I have a slightly different perspective. OHIO grad, UVA Dad with UVA season tickets. UVA is better than I thought they would be this year. Coach has attracted and developed some good offensive and defensive players. Created a solid workhorse mentality across the team. OHIO met a good team and was beaten badly! Ohio's defense was woeful at times, too many times! Before he game I believed we could combat a dual threAt QB. Not so! Offense better at times, but Rourke needs to be accurate at this he very start of the game in passing. So off, I wondered why he was not pulled early. Breaking for the huge run was counterproductive because Solich left him in. We will never know, but I believe Maxwell,if substituted after the second series would have been far more productive. Policy has been bringing in good recruits and has come so close. Still far better coaching and teams than this after 1968! Thought this year would be specifial! Not so on defense, and will not be so if Rourke is relied upon, and cannot get accurate in passing until 4 or 5 series!!

Well said Bobcat Debate 73. I also noted what I thought was a key take away in this game from week one. Where was Maxwell? I kept waiting. I assume he was there. After the first three series and continued miss throws by Rourke, I thought for sure the coaches would give him a shot. But NO. All though Rourke did finally find some receives, he still missed badly on throws. I’m beginning to wonder, has the program, coaches, and school invested so much publicity and money in Rourke its more important to stay true to the man, than to try something different and see if it sparks your team. Week one, the change at QB sure seems to have worked. What was different about this week. Was the embarrassment of losing to an FCS team week one to great of risk; but losing to a P5 school is acceptable and to be expected, so that is OK?? I know many on BA hope that is not the mentality. I guarantee that those players on the team don’t see it that way. The way Maxwell is carrying himself and talked publicly leading up to the game; he is a better man than I. I know one thing for sure if I was Maxwell, I’d be aggravated to put it politely. Based on the press clipping material and coach’s interviews, the two weeks leading up to the game, it seems as if he was told and the coaches put it out publicly that he was going to play and didn’t! If I’m Maxwell I would wonder about the integrity and character of some on this coaching staff. Hopefully the TEAM, and Coaches get this figured out before this season goes down as a disappointment. There is still a lot left!

I don’t know-I thought Rourke’s TD passes to Papi White were spot on where only White could catch them. And Maxwell seems to get the yips, at least when he played in 2016, against decent competition. Maybe his composure has improved since then (since he was pretty young/inexperienced 2 years ago).

Problem’s not the QB play- it’s the defense.

"Inconsistency" has always seemed to be a trademark of Ohio athletics, and that certainly seemed to be on display again on Saturday. What does it take for Ohio to be more consistent? Granted, the latest research shows that the frontal lobe of young men does not develop completely until as late as their mid-twenties, but how is it that other programs, whether they win or lose, appear to put on more consistent performances?

Likewise, what does it take to recruit a solid and consistent quarterback? Why has Ohio been some historically weak when it comes to this particular position? It seems like Rourke should be playing Rugby and not American football. How difficult is it to find someone with a decent arm? Is it really that much of rare commodity? Ohio has had some decent receivers over the years, and it is a shame that this program has yet to find a more balanced and consistent attack.

As for the front lines on both sides of the ball, I think they will gradually progress and get batter. As for the secondary, it would be helpful if they had a strong quarterback to practice against.

I wonder too if Ohio is guilty of believing all the preseason hype surrounding them. Perhaps, a couple more humiliating games is what they need to motivate them enough to step up their game in time for league play?

My assumption is that the coaching staff knew if Maxwell couldn't right his game that day then he would probably be lost for the year as his confidence would have been blown. Like probably many others I was ready for Maxwell to replace Rourke. We shall see if that was the best decision or not.
