Boals and most of OUr players, if not all, are getting a little R & R at Zoombeezi Bay in Columbus today.

Looks like they've updated the roster. Only 10 players listed so far. Most of the international players are not listed yet.

Petkov, Makitan, Icke, Ledegen missing.

One addition is Christian Trudic (Freshman from Chagrin Falls)

I think our practice has been to add them when they are enrolled in classes. Going by IG, Icke is on campus.

As it stands today, there are 14 players on the roster, meaning there is still 1 spot left. This is pure speculation, but if Akron was able to add back Evan Mahaffey (a 4 year player who was granted a 5th year in a lawsuit), is it possible for OU to try to bring back one of the many 4 year seniors from last year that never had a redshirt? This group includes Pav, Hadaway, Sheldon, and Conners.

Update: All NCAA D1 athletes from the high school class of 2022 have been granted a 5th year if they ran out of eligibility this spring (https://apnews.com/article/ncaa-eligibility-five-loss-322... ). This means the entire group mentioned in my earlier quoted post can play in 2026-27. I wouldn’t be surprised if the last remaining roster spot went to one of the many athletes that just got granted a 5th year (whether that is a transfer or a returner).

Isn't Hadaway playing pro ball in Europe somewhere?

He is yeah. He could technically come back but if the miami message board post around march madness was true it would be pretty unlikely the staff brings him back.

I'd love to have Pavs back, though it also feels like yesterday was a list substantial day for the "Save College Sports Bill" with the SEC and Big 10 officially signaling support. They'd been the loudest opponents until yesterday. So it may be more headache than it's worth to try and bring back 5th year guys whose eligibility may only be temporary.

I’d be shocked if any of our guys return. If anything, we were once linked to Matthew Mayes, a D2 transfer repped by the agency Mike Cifliku works for. He was waiting on a 5th year. Someone like Mayes feels more like a more realistic addition.

According to an interview I saw with a member of Congress, the act was gaining momentum without the support of the Big2. I suspect they decided to support it because they didn’t want to look weak. Appearing invincible is very important to these guys.

Competition is always a good thing for any team, any sport.

It's time for all BA posters to rethink their two-deep rotation.

Maybe a hockey line change approach.

I was at first worried this might lead to a KDA or Kolton exit. However, Kolton commented “yessirrr” and KDA commented “Go Time!!”. Nice to know we have team players. What an awesome development, but please let’s not start three 6’1 guys again.

Hopefully all the international guys are in tow as well. We’re just missing Siebe and Marin on campus from what it sounds like.

KDA and Jack are arguably the best 1-2 in the league. Granted, they've never played a single second together, but on paper you have two of the best G5 PG's from last season now on the same team. An incredible stroke of luck we have found ourselves after a real poop show of a year.

Kolton first off the bench. He actually probably won't be, but could likely play 6th man minutes. Which is huge now that Jack doesn't have to play 35 minutes a game (hopefully). And Jack can now re-assume true PG1 status, with KDA shifting to the natural 2 and really running the offense with the plethora of big wings and a solid 4/5 with Dusan and Simmons. Kuany, Siebe, Che, etc etc, etc run around and get buckets. Safety net in front of and behind you. Solid.

Ultimately, I don't think the rest of the guys are affected *that much*, and this is clearly better situation for all to have a veteran like Jack run the offense for a team that is mostly thrown together the last few weeks and to have that reliance and assurance he can and has run this team at a high level - the biggest hurdle remains allocation of minutes, Boals putting it together and allowing an 8-10 man rotation to develop.

I was bullish on this euro all-star team before, putting Jack back in the lead role... this is a Top 3 team. I'd love an outsiders view, because on paper... call me crazy... I think they get some #1 votes.

One thing I was thinking about -- where did the money come for this year's roster? We can speculate on the euro players' cost, but overall this has to be in the $1.5-$2 million range with Pavs' return.

Indeed, quite intriguing. Student fees have a jump? Did they re-allocate some discretionary funds? Been about a decade since I've looked at a university budget. They have money to repave the convo parking garage and decided to pay a bunch of europeans instead?
