+1, but let's not let facts get in the way of a good old fashioned BA over reaction meltdown narrative after a tough stretch.

Right now, we're 11-10 overall and 5-4 in conference.

Our remaining conference schedule is:

--WMU: Should be a win at home. Needs to be a win, honestly.

--@BG: We know Boals has a losing record against BG, and that BG is a tough place to play. Easy to see that as a loss.

--@Kent State: We scratched and clawed to win an ugly game vs. Kent State at home. It was pretty flukey, considering the rebounding numbers and their foul shooting numbers. Easy to see that as a loss.

--CMU: Should be a win. Kind of needs to be a win.

--Akron: Akron's better than us. They're always tough to beat, and this year's team creates bad matchups for us all over the court. They're one of the better 3 point shooting teams in the country, and we're one of the worst at defending the 3 in the country. Not a great combo.

--@WMU: Need to win on the road. Should be able to.

--Miami: They controlled that game for long stretches. Without the foul trouble, might be a different outcome. I'm not convinced we're head and shoulders better than them, even with Clayton back. They shoot well (~top 50 nationally). We defend poorly.

--EMU: They beat us once, could do it again.

--@Toledo: Their length was a big problem for us, and they were a lot more athletic than us. A tough place for us to play, and they own Boals.

We have very little margin for error. We can't lose any of those directional Michigan games and we have to create more margin for error by winning a couple of tough games (Miami at home, @Kent, @BG, @Toledo, @Akron). Doable, sure. Maybe even the most likely outcome.

But this team has some really, really glaring flaws even with Clayton back. We are a bad defensive team. Full stop. And we can't protect the rim and are undersized. When you're in the bottom 1.5% nationally defending the three, I don't think there are a whole lot of gimmes on the schedule.

I swear, if I gave half a crap about OU football I'd go over to that board and post 400 times a day about how we should probably fire the coach bc we STILL haven't made the CFB playoffs and we're paying top dollar for our coach and facilities - just like 1996 does over here.

We get it dude. We took a historically putrid team and finally won a wanna-be D1 conference for the first time since 1968. And we were aptly rewarded with playing a directional southern vocational choir academy in the Joe's Garage and Transmission Bowl at 2pm on a Wednesday.

Jeff Boals sucks. Someday in the future basketball only dreams of aspiring to the heights of our prestigious football program.

Graff- I am only stating the facts. You got me laughing about paying top dollar for Bobcats football coach and facilities. Have you attended a game in Peden lately. Have you gone to the restroom under the stadium and looked at the football facility? This facility is not top notch. And while you are on a roll, do you know what Albin was paid? The guy was the sixth highest paid coach in the league per USA Today October 2024. However, his record wasn't sixth best in the conference during his tenure at Ohio as head coach. Seventh highest if you include new member UMASS. Maybe you can't handle the facts that Boals is the highest paid coach in the league and his best finish is a third seed. Guessing you are pleased with those results? And while you are at it, when is the last time a mens basketball team won a "wanna-be D 1 conference regular season outright"? You would have to go way back to when Larry Hunter was coach. Go ahead and count all those three game tournaments that eight teams qualify for and a few years ago 12 teams were included in the league tournament. Football has to earn a spot (top 2) in championship, not finish 8th and get a spot. Basketball plays 30 plus games and if all you care about is three games in March, then pay the coach less money. Basketball wouldn't have even qualified for the league tournament most of the time because they were not in the top two. Sorry that you and a few others on this website can not handle the facts,

What's the consensus on Bobcat1996. Very committed to the bit or genuinely intelligent?

B Love sense of shame- are you like a few others on this board that can not handle the facts? If someone gives an opinion that is different than yours, you enjoy shredding them. The fact is that Ohio's basketball coach is the top paid coach in the conference and he has yet to finish better than a three seed. If you enjoy that type of finish yearly for what he is being paid, then maybe I can interest you in some beach front property in Coolville?

It has been talked about here on BA but the new arena for the 4-skins is real. Looks like $200M all assumed to be raised from donors.

There seems to be a lot of beachfront property near Athens. 1996 has referenced, I believe, Amesville, Coolville and Guysville thus far. Did the Dow Lake dam burst?

As to his schtick...it's exactly that.

With Clayton back, I think we win at least 6 MAC games.

Don't bring Coolville into this.

A friend of mine refers to Coolville, and the two other nearby hamlets of Frost and Torch as the Temperature Triangle.
