We are not on the bubble. Still solidly in top 4/5. Now if we continue to spiral and second half of league play then that's another story.

That's a ridiculous question

Why is it ridiculous? Find me three slam dunk 100% wins on the remaining schedule? I think it’s going to take 8-10 MAC record for Ohio to be playing in Cleveland in March.

No Pav. He beats his man, gets a point blank uncontested layup and blows it.

I mean, he got fouled twice in the attempt.

Not if the officials don’t blow the whistle and raise a closed fist. Then it’s not a foul.

Look at the bottom of the MAC. NIU, Buffalo and BG are going nowhere. All you need is one of Ball State/CMU/EMU/WMU to not win 8 games and we're easily in. Math and probabilities are a specialty of mine and Ohio has very good odds of making it to Cleveland.

Is it guaranteed? No BUT you are inflating the odds of not making it to a level that doesn't match reality.

Worrying about something that isn't likely to happen is choosing to freak out when it's not neccessary. I watch the rest of the league and the bottom of the conference is much worse than this current OU squad without Hadaway/Clayton.

Wish he would rip the redshirt off Kuany and give him Evans minutes. He can’t be any worse than the limited minutes Evans is providing.

As for Nicol…if he can’t get minutes with Clayton and Captain Chaos down, he will never see the court. Don’t think many people here expect Nicol to be in Athens next season. Swing and a miss for Boals.

He was mugged on the way to the rim, but when he got there it was a wide-open layup, and he was in the clear.

I often wonder about the logic some officials use that something that's a foul earlier in the game is not a foul in the last seconds of a game because they want to "let the guys play." This never made a darn bit of sense to me, but you see it all the time. A foul is a foul is foul. [Yes, Billy, I know technically it's not a foul unless called, but everyone on here knows what I'm talking about.]

Got the look. Team just doesn't really give you much confidence in these situations that they can execute. Everything just feels a little too hard for us to be a good team.

This is almost always the case when a team is down their top 2 players who were both fringe first team all-MAC. Really hard to beat good teams after that. Thankfully the bottom of the MAC is nowhere near good and we should steal a few more Ws. Question is when/if Clayton comes back.

If he's done for the year, so are we. Simple as that.

My comment wasn't about today's team, it was about this year's team. That includes the games at full strength.

Ayden Evans has given us NOTHING since his Sportscenter Top 10 dunk. Seriously--nothing. Like 2 rebounds and 9 fouls. Why keep the shirt on Kuany? He will leave anyways? Pavs had a great drive. Was he mugged? No. Not on that play. But on all hedges he was mugged. And say what you will about Vic guys--he outplayed Woolfork--plain and simple. It is not Vics fault he is our only post now. Oh yeah, and Sheldon hit some 3s!! We are far from Bubble.

Lots of negatives when it comes to Millet. A new one to add to the list is the statistician. EJ's second made FG was given to Evans; JP credited with 0 assists in the 1st half when I recall at least 2 passes setting up ohio baskets.

On the other hand, I do appreciate the home team's color commentator on ESPN+ informing the viewers that "Ohio wants to outscore miami today."

Second the statistician. ESPN still credits Evans with 2 points, 1-1 from field. So does ohiobobcats.com. I believe that's because the home team is the "official scorer", but that was definitely Elmore James's bucket and NOT Evans.

Does NCAA allow scoring changes post-game like MLB does? Can you request a review? I have no idea how to score this, because I know what's true, but that now doesn't match any historical box score.

All 3 directional Michigan's at home.

This team has been decimated by injuries all year. Started without Reef, now without Hadaway and Clayton. Certainly not the season we expected to date, but let's not over-react like the sky is falling.

Was at the game behind the Miami bench and I was angled right behind Pav as he went up for lay-up to the rim. I still don’t know how he didn’t finish that.

Injuries are part of the game. Akron has lost a key member of that team in Josiah Harris who came from WVU and another player. Harris scored double figures a few games before his early injury. He's done for the year. Akron is plugging along. The Bobcat football team overcame several offensive line injuries to win 11 games and a league title. It can be done. Just got to keep fighting!

Ohio definitely controls its own destiny for making it to Cleveland.

However, Ohio (in sole possession of 4th place at 5-4) is a meager 1 game ahead of 5 teams, if CMU holds on to beat Ball St. (up 11 with 15 minutes left). WMU, Ball St., KSU, EMU and CMU will all be 4-5 at the end of the night. I would consider that being on the bubble. On the right side of the bubble, but still on the bubble.

It is all about getting in the top eight and that will not be difficult in this mediocre conference. Get to Cleveland is all that is required. However, for season ticket holders and fans attending weekly games, ending up no better than a three seed yearly for the highest paid league coach is not exactly getting your moneys worth!

I know you still think it's September, but as much as you continue to harp on it, this isn't the football team.

Nobody gives a rip about regular season standings in basketball, unless you're in a multi-bid league.

3 days in Cleveland is it. Boals is 7-3 with a ship and an NCAA win when it counts.

This. In Boals I trust. Except for 2023, he always gets his teams playing hard and playing their best toward the end of the season. This team is scrapping and competing hard even without its best 2 players.

Wake me when any other current MAC coach exceeds Boal's record above in the MAC Tourney/NCAAs, or when any actually wins an NCAA tourney game.

7,889 in attendance today. Did it look like a near-sellout to those in Millett?

No it did not. I would have thought 6,000ish. The crowd was solid and they had a ton of celebratory things going on but definitely not over 7K.

I mean, they had to pull up some of the tarps in the upper GA to accommodate a bigger than normal crowd, but there were still hundreds of seats covered.

Totally get that. We have three games remaining against Michigan directional schools. If we lose one of the three, making Cleveland won’t be an automatic.

With Saul’s players. Let’s just be honest about the situation.
