Bigger than Dwight but can put the ball on the floor and drive better. All-ACC honors to his name. Should have high major interest, but shoot your shot.

Did you see Stute's offer list out of h.s. - ??

Clemson
Oklahoma State
Cincinnati
Marquette
Penn State
Pitt
Texas A&M
Villanova
Virginia Tech
Iowa

Yea, not sure either of these guys are obtainable; but, I applaud Boals for what’s at least due diligence. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

+1. He’d be a dream add, but he’s already proved it at the highest level.

Pohto looks like the profile of a player where there should be mutual interest. Rotation guy with decent stats on a winning program in a better league. Assume he wants a place where he should start.

I hope you're wrong! From what I gathered he wasn't happy with Capel and playing at Pitt. Maybe he wants a chill place to go and just play ball -- it worked for guys like Walt O and Stonerook.

Looks like we are in contact with another D2 stud.

https://twitter.com/themojowave/status/163531625460416512...

Bradley Dean from UVA Wise, conference player of the year, 34 MPG, 21.4 PPG as a sophmore (listed as a sophmore, but has played 3 years? maybe injury RS?) on 49% FG, 43% 3FG on high volume. Looks like the guy can absolutely light it up. Took a ton of shots and made a ton as well.

https://uvawisecavs.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/bra...

Can't find much video on him, but from the short clips I've seen, looks like an Ajay Sheldon clone. Listed at 6'2", 165 lbs. and can shoot the ball. Not sure how well his athleticism would translate on this level, but shooting is the strength.

I'd think this is probably a due diligence contact by our staff in case any guards would leave. Not sure where he would fit unless Miles, Sheldon, or god forbid any of the three presumed starters would bounce out of here in the next week. Let's hope that doesn't happen. Can never have enough ball handling and shooting though, and this guy has it.

BONUS: he is Mac Mcclung's HS teammate. Mac won the NBA slam dunk contest a month ago, and Bradley was a part of one of the dunks.

It's times like this where I like to quote Moneyball.

"Is there another player like Giambi?"

"No, probably not."

"And if there was, could we afford him?"

"No."

"THEN WHAT THE F*CK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, MAN?"

A great movie...however if Stute visits Athens, I'd say all bets are off. Athens is so opposite of a city like Nashville or Columbus. If the Bobcats can get transfers over the years from tOSU, Michigan State, Louisville...why not Vandy? Kent State has a transfer from Vandy, he's a total bust and should be playing NAIA ball...but whatever. Stute would be a major get.

The 6-11/250 guy from APSU that was mentioned in an earlier thread is officially now in the portal. This would be the get of all gets. Comparable to getting DW3

Always interesting to revisit former Ohio recruits. David Early is in the transfer portal after being dismissed from the team at Marshall.

Can't guarantee that. He was originally a Penn State commit but ended up at APSU for whatever reason. His original offer list included Rutgers, Syracuse, Seton Hall, Minnesota, Villanova (not a misprint), etc.

If Boals can get a guy to visit and see Athens and the campus and see The Convo...all bets are off. And that guy can play...he was OVC Freshman of the Year two seasons ago. (before the exodus of schools wrecked the OVC)

To quote a movie: "so you're saying there's a chance."

If you want to take a flyer on another Louisville forward with a year of eligibility, Sydney Curry just entered the transfer portal. He’s a Fort Wayne, Indiana native. Had issues off the court in high school (don’t remember all of the details) but was once considered a major recruit.

Hasn’t lit the world on fire for the Cardinals but does offer some potential as a bridge player for Ohio.

I have nothing to connect him to OU but would speculate he’s trying to find a program where he can have a larger role. If that didn’t happen at Louisville last year, hard to imagine it taking place at another major program.

FWIW, Zach Loveday from Baylor participated in Senior Day activities (since we're using that as a metric now). Have to wonder after sitting the bench for three years in Waco if he's on his way out. From Gallipolis.

Maybe he's looking to sit on a bench closer to home?

John Hugley, IV in 2022-23 had a significant drop in games played and minutes played per game and rebound average.

21-22: 32 games, 29.6 minutes pg and 7.9 rebounds pg
22-23: 8 games, 18.3 minutes and 3.6

Injury, coaches decision or LOST THE EYE OF THE TIGER?

Dwight better field goal percentage and free throw percentage.

He sat out most of this season.

How much is Hutchins-Everette going to cost?

I'll pony up $19 if we get him. Who is the banker around here in charge?

He announced on Twitter that he would sit out the rest of the season as he tries to rehabilitate his mental and physical health.

This could be somewhat of a reclamation project, and he might be looking to come back to Ohio and maybe play a lower division if the ACC was too much.

Certainly couldn't hurt with the EJ / Cleveland connection, maybe put in a call to his old HS coaches. Might have an in there.

I find it so interesting that we hope and pray for some of these high profile guys to come in but over the last 10 years, two guys I really loved who stepped in from smaller programs and made big contributions were Tommy Schmock and Travis Wilkins. They weren't All-MAC guys but they could play. You look at recruits like Adelodun, Sheldon and even Clayton who are still developing and then you look at how Schmock came in and was a breath of fresh air or Wilkins who was the perfect sniper on those solid Christian teams. I equate them to Shumate from Toledo who started at a D-2. I think more looks at the guys who got away from D-1 than castoffs is needed.
