Ben Wight to Toledo. Adding insult to injury.

I know these are different circumstances, but I hope this is not the ghost of Jason Grunkemeyer part 2. Don’t blame Wight for wanting to try and exude future pain on Boals and the Bobcats. I’m sure has a big chip on his shoulder.

"We didn't want you" chant incoming
I really like your style . . . Now, if you’d only re-introduce the “Rip ‘em up, Tear ‘em up, Give ‘em Hell, OHIO” chant!

Would love to introduce this again.

Great, it was a very popular cheer in the late 1960s and early ‘70s. I’m not sure why it drop out of favor.

Also, on a related note, the O-H-I-O cheer that the band leads us in always used to end with “OHIO,” but now most people just say Ohhhhh. This makes little sense to me. The idea used to be that the spelling out of O-H-I-O lead to a crescendo of saying the word “OHIO” with some emphasis at the very end. I think the cheer loses its original effectiveness the way it’s done today. Still good, but not as good as the original version.

He now follows most our staff — even Mike Cifliku, our Video Coordinator. Might be worth monitoring.

Jaylin and Myles now follow each other on IG. As our list of interest gets smaller, really hoping there’s some life to this.

Let's go get this kid. He looks smooth--good hands, nice moves around the rim and finishes well. If we could add him and Mitchell and then one other 3 and D guy, it will be a successful offseason as far as I'm concerned. Keeping the core of Miles, EJ4, AJB, Jaylin, Clayton and our young guys (IJ and Hadaway) it would be huge to add quality guys like Foster.

We’ve recently contacted another D2 big, TJ Nesmith. Solid numbers. 1.5 blocks a game too. Would love a combo of him (or another rim protector) and the above Myles Foster.

I question the young man's priorities and reasoning.

What kid would go from the higher academically ranked and beauty of W&M to go to Glass City? Really a strange choice.

Myles Foster would be a nice add.

Another undersized, MAC-style PF. 6'7" 235. He doesn't shoot the 3 (4 attempts his entire career), but gets rebounds and really improved his game in his first year starting. From 5 points, 3 rebounds to 12.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2 assists. Love to see it.

He will be a true SR, so we've got at least two years in there with his COVID year.

Really does seem to check off the boxes for what we are looking at with this position and size. I've been sold from day one from the first time his name was circulated here.

Jeremiah Davenport to Arkansas. That's a curious move. UC fans largely think he's regressed.

Boals and Lamar started following Chaney Johnson of Alabama-Huntsville this morning. Entered the portal yesterday. Would fit the 6’7 wing type.

https://twitter.com/gtuckerhoops/status/16466673779903283...

I feel like anyone new the staff follows now is a result of being stuck in a holding pattern/waiting on guys to make decisions.

Can't someone just slip an Apple AirTag into Boals' overnight bag?

I’d guess at a minimum, Shereef has visited. Some players and rest of the staff are following him on IG and vice versa. Hopefully a commitment announcement is coming soon. What’s also interesting — he and Myles Foster recently started following each other.

Any relation to that "Wonder Woman" actress?

She's pretty nice looking but "Death on the "Nile" still sucked.

I welcome him, but guess I am missing how this moves the needle as far as talent goes on this team. Wonder if we will see one more corresponding departure after all the PG playing time is now taken.

You don’t want a Big East caliber PG coming off the bench? Guard play wins in March. We’ve got great depth. Portal season isn’t over.
