S'Okay Cellis....lots of veterans here should chime in and identify with the sentiment. Hocutt has a long line of actions which back up what is causing the poster here his pain.

Cue "The" Love.....

No surprise from me on that quote, and a lot of others on this board, but he does have his apologists here.

He was also dumb as a rock. I had one personal discussion with him, and my assessment is half the posters on this board could have done a better job as AD. Hell, I'd even have voted for Bobcat Love as AD over Kirby. I think his career is the perfect example of the Peter Principle at work, except in his case he reached his level of incompetence at his first AD job.

I know I'm in the minority here, but this seems like a good thing to me. Whether it's AD, Basketball/Football coach, it seems like we should want talented, ambitious people who want to reach the highest levels in their chosen fields.

We're not the highest level, but if we can consistently be a stop along the way, that's a good thing. It seems like there's only positives to having former OU employees scattered around the highest levels of athletics.

2nd MAC coach let go: UB's Whitesell. Bit surprising at this time but probably the right move.

I don't disagree with the sentiment. Problem is Kirby was neither talented nor personable. He was ambitious though.

And it appears he hasn't changed.

Will Wade to McNeese State

So much for integrity or ethics in that mid-major hoops outfit.

What would be the top three Kirby Hocutt accomplishments during his time at Ohio?

He got in trouble for what’s legal now. I don’t see him getting a second chance as a black eye for McNeese State hiring him.

I'm rather surprised Fear Leon hasn't chimed in yet. Coach Whitesell is one of his favorites. 😉

Odd hiring considering everything, but god speed to Georgia Tech trying to find success. Especially considering he's also off of the Lute Olson Tree.....

It made sense for a moment, then I realized I was thinking of Jerry Stackhouse.

St John's is listed, unless the school in Minnesota opened their jobs too lol.

But seriously, would not be shocked to see Pitino at St John's or G-town next year.

Okay, this is freaky. There's no reason you should mistake Damon Stoudamire for Jerry Stackhouse, and yet I did the exact same thing when Stoudamire got the nod. I thought it was a steal for Tech to take him away from Vandy, then realized I was completely wrong. Nice to know I wasn't alone.

There have been stories all season about Pitino wanting to go to
the Big East.

Saint Johns was the team they kept talking about.
But that was before Georgetown opened up.

I would think, if given the option, he'd take Saint John's.

More appropriate would be St. Peter's.

Edit: Some may get this, some may not.]
