This is only the 1st week of the conference season and we already have many games in both the Men's and Women's divisions that were postponed.
Being that the schedule calls for 2 games per week it's going to be interesting to see how the league works these postponed games in. Will they all be streamed as well?
When will the league announce these week 1 postponed games back into the schedule?
I'm sure there will be some very unhappy coaches & fans with the leagues decisions. Travel schedules will be impacted as well as whether the games are planned for a day between games or not?

Billy,
Good question, please see the statement from the conference below.

The decision was unanimously supported by the Conference’s Directors of Athletics due to the current rise in COVID cases and its impact on winter sport programs. If possible, games that cannot be played as scheduled will be rescheduled. If a game cannot be played and cannot be rescheduled, it will be considered a no contest.

I’m guessing they’ll do what they did last year and move up games from later in the year (when possible) to open up dates later in the schedule..l similar to what they did for Ohio & BG last year and Akron and UB this weekend. I think last year they had some 3 game weeks for some teams too. 🤷‍♂️

This is the latest I saw on the reschedule policy...

The bigger question is will OU start enforcing its own policy in regards to masks in the Convo?

42 out of 100 games cancelled on 1/1/22. Hard to see how this season keeps going without a lot of upheaval

This is literally everywhere. Columbus has a city-wide mandate and every store is about 50/50 masks and zero of them are doing any enforcement. So I wouldn't expect the Convo to start enforcing.

Not only does OU have a presidential mask mandate but so does the city. The sad part is that it is complaint driven - in other words a citizen has to contact the police to come and enforce it. In Athens, the burden is not on the establishment/store/venue but individuals to contact the authorities. It's pretty much a toothless rule. Sure doesn't engender much respect for authority.

Given all the violence against store clerks and flight attendants who try to enforce mask mandates, I can see why they wouldn't want to put their employees in harm's way. Even on planes the presence of an air marshal's badge and weapon doesn't seem to deter violence by some of the arses who refuse to wear a mask.

I was at The Union on Tuesday night (even though the EMU game was cancelled, we otherwise carried on with our planned Athens trip). I was pleasantly surprised that the staff at The Union was checking vaccine cards. First time I’ve actually been anywhere (my employer excluded) that checked for proof of vaccination.

Have you been in the Convo recently? There are scores of hired security and numerous police officers who could do this. Why have a policy if you aren't going to enforce it?

Dewine states we should "consider" masks, vaccinations, and testing, but won't mandate it (let alone monitor or enforce it) even though science informs us these thing save lives. He and other Republicans governors are too afraid of their constituents who believe personal liberties overrides people's health. Blood on their hands.

Watching the Western game. Very high mask compliance by their fans.

Hired security = Paul Blart. Just there for show. Plus, too many real police don't agree with mask mandates and often refuse to enforce them.

I agree they need to enforce the policy but it push comes to shove (literally and figuratively) they're not going to kick out a paying customer over it.

No card, no mask, you don't get in the door. We can either dance around this thing or get rid of it.

Did you miss the memo where County Health Departments are basically toothless. You may not like it and I may not like it. But it is what it is. The OHIO House has stripped them of any power.

You’ve obviously missed the memo where their orders are ORC only. They are law enforcement, not Board lackeys

Per your post about "why have a policy if you're not going to enforce it."
I think you should direct your comment to Biden and is immigration policy as well.
