Wouldn't break my heart! Here's hopin!

As said in Return of The Jedi - "It's a Trap!!"

(or at least a jinx)

Well you can predict a title in one hand and crap in the other, and see which gets filled first.

Let's see... Who voted for CMU to win the MACC?
https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/college/2019/07/... /

Ohio will be ready by the time the MAC schedule hits in 2019 to win the MAC championship. Non-conference opponents provide good tests. Marshall is picked to win its division in Conference USA and LA Ragin' Cajuns are picked to its half of the Sun Belt. And Pitt, possibly by default, won its division title last year.

The question for Ohio, as it seems it is in recent years, is whether Ohio can go 9 games in MAC Play (8 reg season and the championship) without having a catastrophic 1-3 quarters of football. Not 1-3 bad quarters but 1-3 CATASTROPHIC quarters. That is the difference for Ohio between good and great. That is the difference between going to Detroit and not.

2018: The fourth quarter of the NIU and the first quarter-ish of the Miami game were the difference in what otherwise would have been likely a championship appearance. Granted, we got lucky at Kent St.: we were lucky to win that with the avalanche of turnovers and missed tackles. but Ohio was able to overcome that.

2017: 26-23 loss to CMU-absolute debacle. -4 Turnover differential and we gave that away. 37-34 Loss to Akron? -3 TO differential. I never in a million years would have guessed we'd have lost that game.

Duh.

Ha. I loved the broadcaster's reaction to the first place vote for CM:
sorry I couldnt link it in but it is in the last minute or so and went something like this:

Reghi: 'Oh, so lets go to the MAC media poll to see who got first place votes...'

Fox: 'Ohio has 13 votes, toledo 7 and,...Welllll, someone's got CM in there..."

Michael Reghi: '...wouldnt surprise us...six different participants in the last 3 years across the 2 divisions...' 'not one of the more familiar names..we'll see.'

Git 'er done, Bobcats!

This sums up my thoughts well. Has been a frustrating theme for the Solich era. So much that I expect it to happen and usually can tell in the first quarter of a game which one is going to be the clunker that knocks the Cats out of the MACC.

Playing Buffalo on the road this year has me a bit nervous as they have laid many an egg in Western NY.

My senior year of high school I was picked "most likely to succeed".

By any objective measurement, I have failed miserably in that prediction. Perhaps it's due to the amount of time I spend on Bobcat Attack instead of working.

Regardless, these predictions are nice to talk about but they mean nothing.

I'm very optimistic this year but I've been optimistic before about winning a MAC championship.

Let's see it on the field and as usual, I will be there supporting the team and continuing to disappoint my high school classmates who had such high hopes for me.

Ditto. See everyone in Pittsburgh and various spots after in hopes we're all driving to Detroit in early December
