I really think Frank is a great coach. However he has taken us as far as he can. Time for some new coaching blood.

Who goes for it at fourth and 23. Then waste a time out. You punt the ball use your two timeouts to stop the clock. Hope your defense stops ‘em and get a field goal to tie or touchdown to win. You just don’t go for it with that kind of distance.

The Good, the Bad & the Ugly

The good were the big guns ESPN brought to the game; Ivan Maisel talking about the history of the day; the 150th anniversary of college football's first game. Holly Rowe having a live chat with former Coach Burrows. Add to the list, Desmond Howard and you had quite the A team. Talk about a lucky break, or Providential as the nuns who taught me would say.

The bad were the penalties and mental errors, often made at the most inopportune times.

The ugly would be the offensive line play and lack of offensive coaching adjustments. Sad to say, but the Miami coaches definitely schooled ours.

Come on! He said himself these have been the best recruiting classes since he arrived!

Let's see. OHIO runs down the field to tie it and really hasn't passed well all night nor has the line protected well. And after getting a first down on a fantastically poor throw that Tuggle snagged. It was pass pass pass pass.

You just crammed it down their throats why not do it again and pass only when it is desperation? Plenty of time.

Zervos must finish behind the winning kicker in voting for best in the league. 53 tops 50 miss when the pressure was on.

Miami will go to MAC championship and win it all!
I don’t like to call out players, but our kicking has failed in key spots for 2 years.

I especially liked the way we chewed up as much clock as humanly possible while trailing late in the game. Clock rolling, need to score, three minutes left? Sounds like the perfect time to run the play clock down to 4 seconds before snapping the ball.

+1 .. add in Nathan's fumble and the next play Miami runs 45 for a TD. That's 14 point differential with our fumble at goal line on opening drive. Those were 100% on the players.

There is nothing good about this game. First of all, you are not an OU fan if you think anything "good" comes from losing to Fiami. Secondly, we biffed on national TV with everyone watching. We truly became "the other Ohio college" tonight. We are behind the 8 ball in MACtion now in the East. Western is going to roll us. Rourke is hamstrung by his coaches. They can't decide on a running back. Jimmy Burrow's interview made us look like chump because he left.

Sure we made a ton mistakes. The coaches made a big one at the end by not punting on fourth and 23. They had two timeouts. Then they waste one to try to figure out a fourth and 23 play. Stupid.

That's a great question. And is he the best without winning a title? I would say "no." I have been to Detroit and watches us fail. Then I have watched us botch plays in person or on TV to cost us trips to Detroit. Frank is very good, just not great. The more that Des Howards say so the better.

His wins are for overall wins, not conference wins. 14-15 FCS wins help a lot.

His wins are for overall wins, not conference wins. 14-15 FCS wins help a lot.

Wasting that 2nd timeout before 4th and 23 was just crushing, Either punt the ball and hope you get the ball back around the same spot with a minute left, or MAYBE gamble on getting a busted coverage or a flag on a deep pass down the field. Even if that fails, you can still get the ball back with a minute left, you’ll just have probably 20-30 more yards to go. But calling a timeout there is absolute death.

I have been watching Freddie Kitchens butcher game management all year with the Browns. Now I wonder if it’s contagious.

Every team but awful Kent State and long-suffering Ball State has a MACC in the Solich era. Oh, and Ohio. This staff will never get it done. By the way, this team is now 3-5 against FBS opponents. Consensus MAC favorites with another memorable choke job. The difference is that this time it really lasted all season.
