I still see a gaping hole at nose guard. Playing interior lineman that are sub-280 makes me nervous, especially when they don't have Thompson and Houston behind them.
I’d see that as a huge hole as well, only problem is, we do not employ a “nose guard”. Our base is a 4-2-5, we have interior tackles and we have ends. Totally different skill sets and techniques.

If he’s not getting PT at QBin. JUC, he’s not going DI as a QB. He is a talent though, one we need some of. Our QB1 (prospective) is already a run first guy, we don’t need a “package” QB.
Add that to the fact that the Cats have had two backup QBs--Bates and Rogers-- play in the NFL at other positions and they were never able to work them into the offense as package guys while they were here. I don't think is's in Albin's bag of tricks.
I don't know that this is really an issue of the coach's bag of tricks. I think this really depends on the player and the coach agreeing where the player will be utilized. Both Bates and Rogers were tremendous athletes who had designs on being QBs, which certainly limited (to a degree) what they could do elsewhere on the field. If Delaney is here and committed to being a wideout or Slot guy, I think that's where he'll be on game 1.
If he's really trying to be a QB but ends up QB2 or even QB3, he's got to keep up reps and won't be more than a gimmick -- hopefully an effective one -- at wideout or slot.

If we are talking about Crawford he wasn’t a JUCO.
He was recruited by the University of Virginia as a QB.
It was his idea to be a WR for some playing time.
After watching his high school video as a 3 star QB it’s hard to believe that he won’t get a look at QB….unless he wants no part of the QB position.

All guys mentioned (bates and Roger’s) left because they wanted to be QB 1, it’s not like we sold a magic potion, it’s more like we were the last chance. Perception meets realism..

While the base is 4-2-5 the one technique tackle in a even front is typically a more stout nose guard type and often referred to as the nose. I agree this spot is up in the air. Depth at the three technique and one technique has some questions. Matthews and Buell were really good last year and Weaver showed he can rush inside as well. Based on last year Henderson seems a likely candidate.

This recruit, Nathan Hale, is something special as he already has an elementary school named after him in Halsite, New York.

A true Bobcat patriot who is not a transfer threat, despite how much NIL money will be dangled in front of his face, having once said, "I have but one life to give for Bobcat Nation."

They will align generally anywhere from a 3 to a 1, sometimes even a zero. They are simply DL in the modern game. Globe always had a nose guard in his 3-4 schemes, we’ve not employed one sense.
