South Alabama doesn’t even need to throw the ball at this point. They could ground and pound the rest of the game and we aren’t stopping them.

Just being honest; I'm already looking ahead to next week vs. Stonehill.

Some more of the same issues here as the first 2 games, putting injuries aside.

It's going to be very difficult watching tonight's game, then OUr next two away games at Kent and Sac St., on ESPN+ with 2-3 political ads every single commercial break. I gotta put my mental health above my Bobcat fandom.
Given how we have mostly stayed off websteams the last 3 years and watching half of the ones that were in person so I'mnot used to it, and this production being particularly poor IMO, along with how poorly we are playong makes this tough to watch.

Well, let’s see if we can actually stop them one time.

Seriously.

To be honest any RB on the roster should have taken that one to the house. Wide open lane and an assist from the ref blocking a South Alabama player.

Isn’t it a little too early for you Chicken Little Fans? Lord let the kids play the game Ohio has proven to be a 2nd Half team time and time again.

Not liking much of what I see on either side of the ball.

Special teams looks good though!

The defensive playcalling does not resemble the past. This might be our first year without the "old culture" attached to it. Hopefully they will respond but the schemes, particularly the defense, looks slightly different from year's past.

They've missed a lot of tackles, but when it comes down to it, their O Line is owning us.

Special Teams have improved, thankfully.

Defense needs to learn how to properly tackle and finish.

Offense needs to develop explosive plays. Gotta see less 3-yard runs and instead longer gains.

In general, there seems to be this sense of waiting for something to happen instead of making something happen. That's just my observation.

My way too early hot take:

Levi Davis moves like he’s Nathan Rourke 2.0.

I’m gonna place my vote for giving Levi a shot at QB1 next week.

Agreed, and I don’t think Vezza is a bad QB by any means. The upside with Davis just seems so big.

We've got some good young players - Davis, Brown, Taylor, Christopher. Pre-portal, one could be very optimistic. But now, who knows...good or bad.

Davis's passing looks shaky. I would still start him (or split reps with Vezza) against Stonehill to see if it is just him getting a feel for the game. I feel like Poulos may have been passed by two guys today.

Davis throws a beautiful ball, and I’m wondering how much better it would look if he would have had more practice with the first team in fall camp. Would love to see if it could develop next week.

I have yet to see Davis throw a decent pass.

And of course I applied the reverse jinx and he throws a nice deep ball. But with 25 seconds left in a blowout, I can’t call that a high-leverage play.

Their run offense was so much better than our run defense. The tackling continues to be a problem. given all that if we don’t turn the ball over twice, we probably could have won. The interception was a backbreaker. Even worse to be at the goal line and have one bounce off your knee into the end zone and not recovered was devastating.

Hauser is a great defensive mind so here is to hoping he can put his head together with Mattix and make the necessary adjustments to right the ship on defense in the coming week.

I think our defense will figure it out. Secondary is good. Solid cleanup guys at LB. We need the line to create some havoc both in the interior and with pressuring the QB.

On offense, the line needs health and reps. I saw better push and a couple holes/running lanes opened yesterday. One play in particular with Taylor Jr. in where I thought there was a huge running lane open and he didn't hit it quick enough then Rosa came in the next day.

The revolving door at QB . . . I am waiting for Poulos to get healthy as I feel he is our best guy. Vezza can sling it but doesn't handle the pass rush well and might be turnover prone. Davis, athletically, looks the part. He commands the offense well. Needs work throwing the ball but this dude is a true freshman. Keep finding a way to get this guy reps in 2026.

Overall . . . if we can beat Stonehill which is not guaranteed, that's a 2-2 conference slate and I feel we were competitive in all games. In the first year of a new HC and with totally new personnel on offense, I will take that start.

What a day at the Convo.....Wow!
