50%
(starting point was a group rate, lower than regular season ticket rate)

I'm looking at a 10% decrease in my season tickets from last season. This increase you are talking about must be a group ticket price thing. My guess is a small percentage of season ticket holders are going to be affected. Also the move to make the student side 100% sit where you want general admission was in place last season.
Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
2015 34-3 drubbing of Fiami @ Peden with 25,086 fans
2023 10-7 near shutout of Iowa State @ Solich Field
2025 17-10 defeat of WVU @ Peden in front of 26,740

Got the FB renewal email today and looks like they're doing away with the paper tickets. The options are mobile & print at home, so I guess this was eventually coming. As someone that saves my tickets forever, it's kind of a bummer, but not the end of the world I suppose. And I think the prices went up a bit too.
I have not gotten this email. Just did a search to make sure I hadn't overlooked it. Has everyone else received the FB renewal email? Could someone do and cut and paste into this thread. I'd like to see the exact wording. Thanks.

So, for every “free Volleyball season pass”, will count as a ticket sold next year on our volleyball numbers. We may be a top 10 in attendance in VB next year.

Thanks, Alan. I went online to ohiobobcats.com and renewed my football season tickets. I'm happy to report that there was an option to have them mailed to you. This is the one I checked. I guess I'll have to wait and see if this is the cards, like we had in the past, or if it's printed tickets. I hope it's the cards.

The MLB team I worked for made this transition into the 2016 season. Phoenix, AZ is a big retirement town. We got heavyyyyyyy push-back from the old-timers but for the younger fans, they were very pleased with the simplicity and convenience. Ticket sales actually increased. People that often gave tickets or re-sold them were very pleased with how easy it is to just email the tickets and have the recipient just print them off.
We offered a one-time fee to print all tickets off. Not sure if OU is offering that or not. Your experience is all going to be based on if you can figure out a printer. Seems pretty simple but people were already negative about the situation so as soon as an issue occurred, they had our customer service line on the phone in seconds.
Its comparing two different teams, fan bases, and economical regions but I am interested to see how this plays out.
Also, in time, every single sports team will eventually get rid of ticket stubs. Its already happening all over the professional sports world.

McBin - possible the increase is directly correlated to the amount of Ohio Bobcat Club dollars assigned to premium seats and a marginal annual increase on top? This would be a way to cover most people who itemize tax deductions and who will no longer do so with the increase in the standard deduction. If that’s what is going on I am more likely to stay the course.

So at the end of the day, it looks like all there was/is is a ticket price increase. My tickets on the 50 in the chair back section 15 rows up went from $80 to $90 each, an increase of 12.5%. The seat donation remained the same at $50 per seat.
In talking to Ben at the game his situation involved the group ticket price.

A 12.5% price increase is pretty substantial. If your favorite stock increased their dividend by 12.5%, you would be ecstatic.

I'm not a fan of the "no tickets" thing either. In fact, I'm even willing to pay a nominal extra fee for a real paper ticket. I keep most of mine forever as well. Still have my first ticket to most venues I've been to.
I don't get it - I know we're an electronic world in so many ways, but why does everything have to be? Old, and older farts like me like having physical, tangible tickets.

I think that's too bad, but I know it's coming. I'm not that old, but damn man, some old skool ways are worth hanging on to, and to me, real tickets is one of them. Giving the option to pay to have them mailed for a nominal fee makes sense to me.

As I recall, each year's renewal package already includes a handling fee.

I agree, ticket stubs are an awesome collectible that many hold dear to their hearts. They are essentially memories and I wish I would've collected my stubs over the years.
In today's society though, paper tickets just aren't the economical option. Its smart from a business standpoint as many teams outsource their ticket printing services. From a business analytics side, teams are also able to track their tickets and obtain more data from their market, which helps combat the secondary market.

My wife has a box, more like a crate, with the ticket stub to every event she's been to since she was a teenager, including movies.
Sometimes, like in the case of Bruce,we go multiple shows at the same place.
She keeps the stub to every show.

Doc Bobcat and I are hoping that it will be the credit card like ticket that we had for several years about a decade ago. It was ideal, iMHO. You just kept it in your wallet for the season, and when you needed to give a ticket to someone else for a particular game there was an option to print out a single-game ticket. As I recall, you went to a specific URL and entered you card number and then indicated the game you wanted to print out a ticket for. Worked like a charm.

This contradicts your earlier assertion that requiring online access is insensitive to economically disadvantaged folks. BTW, I'm sure that these individuals would be able to go to the Convo to get tickets printed out for them if they indeed can't go online and print out for themselves.

No it doesn't. The cards do NOT require online access. It can be used if you want to transfer your ticket for a specific game without physically giving the other person your card. It was clear from my earlier post that I was talking about a system that required online access and/or a smartphone to have a ticket. The card system is not that. Your card is your ticket!

I think he got you on this one OCF. How are you going to be able to print out a ticket without going online to access your account?

Panthers and Hornets both have gone away from printed tickets. Much easier - go online and print PDF or just access them on your phone. Makes it soooo much easier to manage and transfer tickets. So if my kid decides to meet us at the game, I simply forward the ticket to him as PDF or transfer via my account, Out of town Bobcats will love that feature. Going to Hornets tonight - never met the guy - friend of a friend - simply emailed me the access to the tickets. I emailed one to my son, printed out the others.
A caveat is you can not print all of your tickets out a once - must be within 14 days of the game. Throws a small wrench into folks trying to sell their whole season - but manageable. They also send an email to you when your tickets are live. Takes you right to the pdf. Assuming the most elderly of ticket holders can print anything off of their computer they are fine - it is that simple - open email - click on "print tickets" - takes you to PDF - print and you have paper tickets. If they can't manage that I doubt they are eating solid food, let alone going to Ohio games. Just kidding - but it is easy. Glad Ohio has the old fashion dockets for those that want them.

It was clear from my earlier post that I was talking about a system that required online access and/or a smartphone to have a ticket. The card system is not that. Your card is your ticket!
I think he got you on this one OCF. How are you going to be able to print out a ticket without going online to access your account?
No, Alan, I think you and SBH need to take a basic reading comprehension test. The printout of the tickets is a totally OPTIONAL thing with the card system, and only if you want to let someone else use your ticket and you don't want to lend them your card. For all purposes other than that you do NOT have to go online for anything. Your card is your ticket. Don't know why you two have so hard a time understanding that -- unless you are just trying to be obstinate. And, who would ever accuse you and SBH of that? ;-)

If you read your earlier post, the #1 benefit you cited (sharing tickets) requires internet connectivity, which apparently does not exist in Petticoat Junction or wherever it was that you conducted you instant customer survey last week. You remember - you claimed you were told by season ticket holders that they were not going to renew.

Careful, you two will become known as Bullies.

Ease is not the issue, cost savings is.
