"We accept that in July 2018 Coach Meyer was deeply absorbed in football season and wanted to focus on football at Big Ten Media Days. The firing of Zach Smith the day before – the first time Coach Meyer had fired a coach – was also on his mind, as was the erroneous media report of a felony arrest of Zach Smith in 2015. We also learned during the investigation that Coach Meyer has sometimes had significant memory issues in other situations where he had prior extensive knowledge of events. He has also periodically taken medicine that can negatively impair his memory, concentration, and focus."
Does anybody truly believe this? Its all lies. It shocks me how buckeye nation supports this guy after he lies time and time again.
This phrase stands out the most:
"significant memory issues in other situations where he had prior extensive knowledge of events"
please explain....

How about the fact that between July 24 and Aug 2 Meyer deleted text messages that were more than a year old, even though he likely knew that they could be relevant to any investigation regarding Zach Smith's firing?
Just because you delete a text doesn't mean it can't be recovered.
I took a class on cyber security last year.
The instructor asked for someone in the room to give him an email address.
Within a few minutes he had 5 years of deleted emails and texts.
There are ways to make recovery harder.
But I don't know if Meyer is savvy enough to use them.
Probably not, since he had to ask someone how to delete the text messages.
Whether they could be recovered is irrelevant. It's the fact that he deleted messages that he probably knew would be the subject of an investigation. Smacks of a cover-up. It wasn't the break-in that brought down Nixon. It was the attempted cover-up. Apparently Meyer didn't learn anything from Watergate.
We will get by.
We will get by.
We will get by.
We will survive.

I am searching high and low, but I'm having a hard time finding the f***s I give about this story.
How about that this whole matter involves employees of a state university and that some of the more disgusting things occurred at the state university? Using state property for lewd pictures and to receive sex toys implicates state ethics laws and may be a criminal violation.
How about the fact that between July 24 and Aug 2 Meyer deleted text messages that were more than a year old, even though he likely knew that they could be relevant to any investigation regarding Zach Smith's firing? There was already a news story about why Zach Smith was fired, so there would likely be more internal or external interest. It at least looks like a cover-up and could be a violation of state ethics laws.
How about the fact that Zach Smith apparently had behavior issues dating back to 2009 but Meyer and Gene Smith didn't put anything in writing or follow reporting protocols until a month ago? Here's a guy who had daily contact with the kids they were responsible for, and the only thing they did was advise him to get some help. Granted, his worst behavior allegedly was targeted toward his ex-wife. But he displayed some pretty erratic behavior in other areas. They should have done more to address his issues and protect the players.
And of course this incident raises the question: what else may be going on that's been successfully pushed under the rug so far?
DFC’s post went so far over your head, I’ll laugh for days.

Look how many things Louisville brushed under the rug before they got rid of Eddie Munster. Meyer's time is coming.

There's an article in toady's The Record (sorry it won't link) by Andrew Welsh-Huggins and Jim Vertuno of the AP.
According to the article, Meyers deleting of texts may violate Open Records Laws.
The article also raises the issue of why OSU didn't do more to track down older messages.
According to the article,Meyer's phone had been set to delete texts that were more then a year old.
One question, when as that setting put in ?
