Missed block, but I really don't like the call to leave Rosa in there on an important 3rd and 3. Obviously, Hauser didn't hear me yelling at the TV!

Davis and Brune can bring the option back.

I agree with the general idea of burning clock. Just a matter of which runs you use.

Nutless football on offense. 14 runs to 3 passes since the FG. This dual QB nonsense is profoundly ASS. Davis not a threat to throw so they stack the line and we run anyway.

And that DPI on what should’ve been a game ender is the cherry on top of this garbage heap of a game.

If the sky opens up and they manage to win, they should all play the lottery tonight.

Face it, right now this is just not a very good team.

Just unbelievably lucky.

Yup. Brian new how to call plays. Izzy tends to get lost in play calling.

Not to be lost in all of the key plays today, including 2 missed FG attempts by Kent and 2 made FG attempts by Ohio, I find it interesting (ironic?) that OUr kicker was Kent's kicker last year.

Well, give that one to the defense. Levi Davis is the future.

If Poulus doesn’t start next game then Davis should.

Not knocking Vezza just think the other 2 are more dangerous.

Great minds think alike. Davis is electric. I think he is the future.

But, we need a defense that can stop the pass play, and an offensive line that provides some level of pass protection.

I don’t think the defense played bad today but I’d like to see what game plan Mattix had. Having our DB’s play 8-10 yds off was a choice. Only gave up 217 passing and 49 yds on the ground. I’ll take that.

On the podcast, I asked Kent State fan, if they line up for a game-winning FG, what's the chances. He didn't sound optimistic. Good call on his part.

Levi Davis will be gone in two years. Let’s enjoy him while we have him.

I would have had Kent State, Buffalo, and Akron as bottom 15 FBS teams with Sac. State & Bowling Green possibly and Ball State likely as bottom 5 teams. I would have thought, going into today, that WMU and Toledo were the favorites, and Ohio, UMass, Miami, and possibly CMU as other contenders. EMU was hanging in the middle in my mind.

We saw that Miami is probably going to struggle with their 3rd QB. UMass got blown out at home so I don't know where to out those teams. We might owe EMU some respect. We Saw WMU and Ohio struggle on the road against what are very likely very bad teams and Toledo behind on the road a lot of the game against what is I am almost positive is a very bad team. So I guess it is hard to win on the road and there isn't as much difference between top and bottom as I had guessed.

Been following Bobcat football for 70 years. Realized long time ago why Dix Stadium is the most perfectly named football venue in America.

Gosh, Mike, I’m too old to remember that far back… enlighten us who were they and did we win? I know we were running the option way back then.
In 1994, Ohio went 0-11. Grobe arrived and started freshman Kareem Wilson at QB. Bad passer but good handler and excellent runner. First season - 1995 - Ohio went 2-8-1. Then 6-6 with road wins at Hawaii and Maryland. Third season 8-3. Fourth season 5-6.

In Grobe's 5th season he started freshman QB Dontrell Jackson and team went 5-6. In Grobe's last season Ohio with Jackson went 7-4 with wins over Minnesota and Marshall.

Grobe's 6 seasons coincided with my 6 years as president of the Akron-Canton Alumni Chapter. Grobe and I grew close. As he was preparing to head to Wake, I told him I thought his two 5-6 teams were better than the 8-3 team. He agreed. Some other BAers might recall the schedules in those 5-6 seasons and the homer loss at NC State.

In Knorr's first season he - or his offensive coordinator - decided to start Jackson, not with his accustomed option offense but as a pro-type QB. Disaster. I felt sorry for Dontrell.
