Searles did hit 5 of the 11 threes he took. 46%
Small sample size, but if he can regress to the mean of 40% on more.....

So what do we know about Victor Searles? Boals posted on IG he is committed. I’m guessing 1 year? 6’9 245lbs, per Ashland’s site.

cc-cat wrote:expand_more
I wouldn’t expect Searles to start. he’s been playing against lesser competition so his numbers won’t translate. i’d be happy with an improvement over Wiz off the bench.

agree hadaway won’t lose minutes to him (or probably anyone else) he’s gotten better with playing time.

What we DO know is his name is Victor Searls. No E. Sears with an L.

$20 says we get to enjoy this getting misspelled alllll year long. It's the gift that keeps on givin.

Marcus Hill to portal, not ruling out BG return/exploring options. MAC continues to get gutted.

Other mid major leagues seem to replace the talent lost. For whatever reason, not the MAC.

Both Hill and Agee in the portal from BG. Bye bye BG…back to the basement in the MAC you go without those two!

Remember that Mike and Miles are twins. Maybe Miles is going to play somewhere else under Mike’s name.

Just a thought.

A page of replies and not a single person corrects the crossed up Chili's reference to Applebees? I expect better.

Kevin Miller started all 35 games at Wake Forest and averaged 15.6 ppg as a Soph this year after leaving CMU.
Absolutely a successful move for him.
And just like that, Kevin Miller is back in the portal baby!

Looking for a bigger NIL payday and/or chances at NBA I'd guess. I mean he's already starting for a P5 ACC team. What else could he want?

Maybe he needs to find a team for him and his AAU boyz to take over. Who knows...

Because guys find it funny to go into the porta like that. Heck we had a manager go into the portal, walk-ons etc. he got attention, that’s probably the goal.

Back in the early 1980s, way before the portal, I sent a letter to the NBA offices in NYC declaring that I was coming out early for the NBA draft. This was coming off a season where I led SBH, cc-cat, among others, to the all-campus championship game in intramural basketball. Never did hear back from commissioner Larry O'Brien.

And what a travesty that was that you were overlooked like that. In all seriousness, it’s funny, I think it’s funny you did that and folks do it all the time. I’d imagine most those scouts who overlooked you have lost their jobs by now. (Dead or retired).

I remember 'Squared as a rather inert non-scorer.

His best sport was broomball. He played best late at night.

Congratulations making it to the championship game. Were you an independent, dorm, graduate student or fraternity qualifier and "A" league or Double "A"? What category did you play against for the finals and who won? In the 80's did they play the game in Grover on the center court?

The best I can do under the circumstances (over 40 years ago): intramural games played in Grover center, I believe on center court; I guess we were an independent team; lost in the finals to a more fit ROTC team.

My brother's independent team beat a fraternity team in the championship game 4 years earlier.

In the mid 70's we played the finals in the Convo after an Ohio-Western Michigan game. We were an independent too, intramural games prior to final were at Grover.
