He has been traded to the Chicago White Sox.
Unfortunately, the wrong side of town.
Definitely the better side of town!
Go Cubs!
Southside, the best side. Go Whitesox!

Tinkers to Evers to Change, beats the legacy of the Black Sox any day of the week. Go Cubs! And, we had Ernie Banks and you didn't! (ha-ha)

Joe has been on the IL since being sent back down to Charlotte, on June 25th. I could not find specific injury info/details.

Joe returned from his stint on the IL and in his first appearance back last night, he pitched 1 inning in relief, allowing zero runs, walking 1, and striking out the side. With a few more outings like this, perhaps he will get a late season call up to the Chisox.

Unfortunately Joe was "designated for assignment" today, hence, dropped from the 40 man roster..

This gives the White sox a seven-day window to either trade him, place him on waivers, release him, or send him outright to the minor leagues (but not as member of the 40 man roster).

Claimed by the Athletics, who had room on the 40 man after placing Justin Sterner on the IL. You figure there will be less risk of being a victim of needing a spot on the 40 man with a lowly team like the Athletics. Hopefully he sticks for the remainder of the season. They immediately optioned him to AAA Las Vegas.

On the bright side, he knows he's playing in a minor league stadium no matter what.
