I have already prepared myself for the announcement that we are handing the job down to the two assistants who have had a hand in making this mess in the first place. Head coach Malinowski, Associate Coach See. Please note this is the absolute worst decision we can make. We absolutely need new blood to turn this ship around. Both of those guys could end up being decent coaches, but we just have to go another way.

If you are talking about Brian Mannino, I would be fairly happy with that hire. Is that an actual possibility though?

I will take a Bobcat who has dedicated himself to the program and baseball community with a passion that can't be matched by anyone outside the university.

Not a surprise...he wants to still have a lot of control over the program. If it's a true national search though, I doubt terrible records at Appalachian State and Ohio will really help his case.

We need either a top assistant at a big time school, or a head coach from a smaller school that has came from a culture of winning.  I love the bobcats, but bobcat baseball has been losing for awhile.  Sure we might make the conference tournament here or there, but who cares.  I want to see championships.

This See guy has been around here too long with no success.  The fact the guy transferred here in the middle of his career and then graduated, doesn't mean a whole lot to me.  So we were his second choice, and he found a coaching gig here. So what.

I want to see wins.  I want championships, and I don't really care how we do it.  Just get it done.

This isn't a charity.  Hiring an Assistant Coach is the lazy way to do things.  The AD needs to get to work and find something better.

This would be like asking the ugly girl to prom, because you know she'll say yes.

I want the best man for the job and let's win some freaking ballgames for a change

Note:  162-220 record since See brought his talents to Athens.  That translates into a 42.4 winning %.

I wish I received a promotion for only being successful 42.4% of the time.

Seems to me you are giving an assistant coach an awful lot of blame for a program's success, especially when you take it all the way back to his first year or two as a coach.  Heck, for all we know Coach See made a couple players outstanding and that lead to a much better record than those schools would have had without him on staff!   Possibly the Ohio winning % could have been around 30% without him on staff.  Just sayin

Who did he make "outstanding" though? Please provide examples. Also, remember that he is the head pitching coach. For a team that had 5 pitchers drafted in the 5 years before Toadvine's death, Ohio will finally break their drafted pitcher drought this season with Streich. Let's be honest, Streich was getting drafted if he went to Rio Grande. So I guess I don't really see a bunch of progression with players.

Team ERA since See has arrived has peaked as 5th best in the MAC since his arrival. However, I'll give him a pass somewhat on that because Trautwein Field is a launching pad.

Walk since See has arrived have been a huge issue, minus in 2009 when they allowed the 2nd fewest in the MAC. Can't fault that on the home field.

I did find one category Ohio dominates at since 2007 when it comes to pitching: Wild pitches.

Like I've said in the past, See could end up being a decent coach somewhere. Just not at Ohio. I just don't see how anyone can look at how this program has been and say "Oh yeah, that looks good. Let's keep the two top assistants and have Carbone still have an input because you know he'll be around. Keep this train rollin'!"
