GAME TIME CHANGE

Due to a forecast of temperatures in the low teens with single-digit wind chills, our Senior Night game against Western Michigan will now kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET from Peden Stadium on ESPN2.

Unfortunately another beautiful Saturday afternoon came and went without a football game. I'm not sure an hour will make much of a difference in temperature or turnout.

At first I thought this was an attempt at humor. Talk about a ridiculous situation. As Alan said, one hour isn't going to make a difference. Viewers of ESPN2 will turn on their TV's at either 6:30 or 7:30 and see a scant crowd at Peden. Maybe someone at the Scalia weather Lab on campus can research when the last time a game was played at Peden under these conditions. It would have been tough to get a good crowd under the best conditions on a Tuesday night, let alone with a season going south and playing in North Dakota conditions. Maybe we could have a contest in determining the true crowd size vs the announced crowd size. I hope I am wrong, but I am guessing it will be like my senior year in the 80s when my friends and me would count the crowd in the stands after halftime, and do so in short order.

We had a home game vs NIU several years ago that was about like that.

Yup, last game of the year too. Bundle of fun taking down tents that were essentially frozen pipes. Had to take blow torches to the darn things to loosen em up and took three times as long due to having to de-construct everything

Not sure one hour really helps all that much but it should be a tad warmer for the pregame festivities.

Worst part about all this is that the seniors deserve better on Senior Night.
