I look forward to this every year! It's a nice opportunity to snag jerseys for a few of my friends who played various sports and can't make the sale. That being said: if you plan on buying stuff for the purpose of reselling:
A- you're a jerk
B- please come after 1PM so everyone can get what they want before you clean the place out

I had a friend on the women's bball team who wanted a specific jersey. They sold that jersey last year and it ended up on eBay for double what it sold at the Spring sale. Don't be that person...

I may be wrong here but, did I read somewhere that this year payment is by cash or check only? Credit cards not accepted?

This from the OBC this morning.

"The Ohio football team will hold its 15th and final 2019 spring practice on Saturday (April 13) at 2:00pm at Peden Stadium, and fans are invited to attend.

Prior to the spring practice finale, Ohio Athletics will host its annual equipment sale inside Peden Stadium at Gate 2, which is located next to the Perry and Sandy Sook Academic Center. Gates will open at 12:00pm for the spring sale. Items for sale include polo shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, quarter zips, sweatpants, parka jackets, shorts, t-shirts, footwear, jerseys, bags, equipment and helmets. Cash and checks will only be accepted for payment; no credit card sales. All sales are final.

Free parking for the spring sale and spring practice finale will be available in the Convocation Center lots. Once inside the stadium, fans will have the opportunity to reserve their 2019 season tickets. Fans age 12 and under will receive free souvenirs for attending. Fans who attend the spring practice finale will also receive free admission vouchers to the April 26 Ohio softball (vs. Miami; 3:00pm) and baseball (vs. Kent State; 6:00pm) games."

Just got this email too. They aren't seriously charging for the Peden lot are they? If so, very silly idea for the spring "game" that gets maybe a couple hundred in attendance.

Seems like a simple and fair option for fans the department makes a few bucks. Would you rather they raise student fees? You can easily park for free across the street. What is the issue here?

The Spring Sale was a complete JOKE. Doors opened early at 11:40ish so getting there and seeing hundreds of people stuffed into a remote corner of the stadium like rats clawing thru boxes upon boxes was unappealing..wasn't worth the hassle at all. It was entirely BUSH LEAGUE. And to see parents and friends of our current student athletes/former athletes scrambling like Drug Addicts to get a jersey and other merchandise was just SAD. I even noticed several current mens and women athletes attempting to get stuff. What a SHAME.

Attended what will probably end up being my last surplus sale this past weekend. It was reminiscent of what you see on the TV news on Black Friday, a frenzied mass of people lined up outside Target or Walmart waiting for the doors to open. Had a couple of female senior citizens, both half my size, literally shove me out of their way for a $5 t-shirt.

Thought about giving them my bionic elbow, but decided discretion was the better part of valor.

Out of all the surplus sales and spring game I've been to this was by far the most unorganized mess I've seen.

They had all that extra space to work with and they put it all back in a closed off corner and did nothing to organize what was for sale.

Everything about the spring game just felt like they were obligated to have the day and just phoned it in.

but It was a beautiful day Athens so overall a good day.

So I take it there were no extra football jerseys or helmets? The pics on twitter made me mad that I had to miss it. So many helmets!

Glad I missed it. When I saw all the Kid Fest stuff in the Peden parking lot I make a quick decision not to go to the 'Spring Game." This is all fall out of the Fake Semester system, with only 14 weeks (rather than 16 in real semesters) they have to cram all kinds of things on the same weekend. Horrible planning from the Board of Trustees on down!

Was it not in the same spot as usual? First one I've missed in a long time. It's almost getting too big though. It's awesome that so many people want to get cool stuff, but it's just such a ridiculous rush for mostly picked over stuff within the first 10 minutes.

It was not in the same spot. It was in the newly built side just to the left of the original site. It was extremely crowded and the stories of Black Friday type experiences are not exaggerated...sans fist fights.

My suggestions for improvement would include either a return to the original site or a flip flop of equipment. In other words put the jerseys and helmets back in the corner and put everything else out front where you had some space.

We always have a good time and I acquired lots of tee shirts for the grandkids. Pub burgers remain just as tasty as ever and our new watering hole is the raucous Smiling Skull...5$ PBR pitchers and 2$ cheap tequila.

Sounds like a great way for the department to make money, but horrible execution. Why don't they just sell that stuff online?
