I’m sure that’s it’s a big deal overall, but Frank mentioned in the post-practice interview that Naylan (Yates I presume) is in camp and taking snaps. He didn’t mention Quinton M. so I think that confirms that he will no longer be playing for the Bobcats. Those things and updating us on the Ross injury that is keeping him from practice are about the only concrete things to take from that time with Frank. And the 2 new coaches have energy-that’s good.

OL could be good if those 5 stay healthy.

Nice to see Fernandez and Hayes in there....big bodied upperclassmen.

I assume left tackle will be a competitive situation. Go back and watch the Kent game when Lowery went down. 76 and 61 have a chance to be special. New O line coach has a solid core to work with. Hayes played very well last season when he took over at center.

Thinking #60 is already special.

Ethan Beckett made all state three times, he looks like a good walk on.

According to Arkeley, he is a walkon for offensive line. Here are his Junior highlights, where he is listed as 3rd team All-Ohio at MLB
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22-YQSs7VPQ

Here are his Senior Highlights, where he is listed at 1st team All-State at WR:
https://www.hudl.com/profile/2185741/Ethan-Beckett

It also listed him as playing TE and DE, and says he is 6-2, 235. He also had 7.5 sacks and 5 blocked FG.

I'm honestly not sure where this guy will end up, but I guess he could bulk up and play OL in a few years. He could also end up at DE or TE, and for that matter, he could try out for LS. He strikes me as a versatile athlete who loves the game, and will do what it takes to help the team. My guess is that before he's done, he finds a way onto the field.

Names you heard mentioned in the interview with Rourke included Tyler Walton twice, and Shane Hooks, as well as Cox and Buckner. In the highlights, you saw catches by Walton, Minter, Bryan Long Jr, Anthony Whitney, Cox, plus a receiver in a red jersey. Is Odom wearing a red jersey this Spring, perhaps? From this, I'm guessing that the receivers who get PT this Fall may include Odom, Cox, Buckner, Walton, Hooks, Long, and DL Knock.

A really good receiving corps.....as quick or quicker than last year.

There are plenty of small, quick ones, but the open question is who will fill the possession receiver role that has been fill by the likes of Andrew Meyer, Sebastian Smith, Tyler Futrell, Matt Waters, Riley Dunlop, and Terrance McCrae?

Buckner 5-7, 164
Knock 5-8, 194
Long, Jr 5-8, 179
Walton 5-9, 158
Cox 6-0, 185
Odom 6-1, 188
Minter 6-2, 213
Hooks 6-4, 184

I always thought Tyler Tupa would be a possession type receiver but apparently he’s been fighting injuries....Hooks and/or Minter might fit that role....also OUr tight ends this year are great receivers.

I should have added the question as well, as to which ones are the best blockers. Blocking by wide receivers is often under-appreciated, but is essential for explosive plays.

03/20 Practice Highlights. http://ohiobobcats.com/sports/fball/index

#53 again at RT with the ones on OL. Safeties #20 & #18 with nice picks. #20 again with a nice tipped ball.

Thanks, Alvin Floyd looks like he is setting up the no fly zone.

@CoachIzzy1 tweets about spring scrimmages, does not say when they may be. OhioBobcats.com @ http://ohiobobcats.com/sports/fball/2019-20/releases/2019... does not show practices with scrimmages. Does anyone know the practice dates with scrimmages? Perhaps the Saturdays?

They scrimmaged yesterday. The final scrimmage/spring game is April 13. They will have at least one more between now and then.
