Anecdotal but I'm 30 and love Chipotle. My parents both dislike it. But neither of them really like Mexican all that much anyway.

But my best friend at work who is 46 eats it all the time. I'd say generally younger people like it more but there are plenty of exceptions.

Not a fan means you've never been to Chipotle? I'm not a fan either and I'm over 40 (just a little). However, my two children like Chipotle so I've eaten at Chipotle once or twice.

The only time I've ever eaten at Chipolte was lunch,in Athens, when the Burrito Buggy wasn't around.

I don't mind Chiplote's and eat there every once in awhile, but my wife hates it.

Now, the important news: My wife and ate at The Corner on Saturday. I will affirm that the Brussel Sprouts as an appetizer is excellent. I had the Green Tea Waffle and Chicken, which was tasty. My wife had the Shrimp and Risotto. She said it was good. We will go back again. Attendance was fairly heavy, not packed, but about 75 percent full, and they have not yet start to advertise at all.

I'm 50 and the only reason I don't frequent Chipotle is because I prefer Big Mama's.

I'm 35 and never have eaten Chipotle. I wish it was because I avoid fast food, but I don't. I eat Taco Bell way too much. I avoid eating at Chipotle because it costs way too much.

Its true. I've been to Chipotle twice. That's it.

In the rare situations where I'm eating fast food, I want to be able to just walk up and say "give me X", like a burrito supreme with hot sauce, or #2 and a unsweet ice tea. Been awhile since I was in Chipotle but I don't remember that being an option. Also, get off my lawn and put down that phone.

Age 52, eat at Chipotle a couple of times a month. Point of fact: I moved to Denver in 1993, the same year Chipotle started as an upscale fast food chain on the corner of Evans and South Pearl, and ate there shortly after it opened that summer. It was as delicious then as it is now. But then I don't find an $80 dinner for two at Casa to be particularly affordable, so I guess I would enjoy a bourgeoisie dinner. ;-)

I did take a took at one of the old Sanborn fire insurance maps from 1923 and there was a filling station at that location in the early 20th Century. It doesn't show the name of the statuon. I seem to remember if you go into the Smiling Skull and look at some of those old B&W picutes on the wall there is a picture of the station as it looked in the 1930's. That area has a rich history. When it came to Chinese food down there I was partial to the old "Hopsings" where Thai Paradise is today. Can't remember when that went out of business. Were they from the same family involved with Lam's?

Hopsings was owned/operated by Hoi Chin who played club lacrosse here way back in the day. It closed in the early 80's. Interesting note: he started with bagels grilled on hibachis uptown with his "Hoi's Goys". Originally from New Jersey, he moved away then came back to open a little spot on Columbus Road--good inexpensive food--and passed away about two years ago. He had ties to the Red Room group. (It was at Hopsings that I discovered my intense shrimp allergy, which he thought was a joke at first.)

Now the big age gap is whether it's Chipotle (correct) or some variation of "Chipolte's" "Chipotles" or "Chipoltes." Why do older folks love to add that "s" to the end? The world may never know.

Of course I never go to the one in Athens. That would be silly.

I never spend more than $9 at Chipotle for a bowl and a drink. I have been known to drop $12 or more at Taco Bell.

This drives my wife nuts. So, naturally, I always say "Meijers", for example, around her but "Meijer" all the other times. Or, when recording a debit in the check book, I'd write "Meijers" rather than "Meijer" for her eyes.

I give a pass for that and for Kroger's because Kroger and Meijer are named after people so Kroger is "Kroger's" store and Meijer is "Meijer's" store.

Thaks for that info. I'm going to assume you're talking late 60's or early 70's since you have a reference to the Red Room. I'm assuming you're referencing the bar in the old Lakeview Community Center? Was "Hoi's Goys" in a storefront uptown? Or something like a buggy that "Louie" used in the mid to late 70's? Or did he just set up the hibatchis on the street?

I should add that one of the major reasons that my wife does not like Chipotle's is because they use so much cilantro in their food. She has the "tastes like soap gene." See: https://tinyurl.com/y9krbtep

I don't think it is age related. Same folks shop at Meijers.

EDIT

Responded before I saw the response

I suppose you can spend $12 at Taco Bell, but I rarely spend more than $5 for any fast food. Anything more than that sort of defeats the purpose (cheap) of it to me.

Yea but, for me, Taco bell is a different beast. I don't go there often but I'm usually inebriated when I do and I order a la carte so it can get expensive haha.

Cheap is definitely a consideration for me when I get fast food, but usually time/convenience is the real reason I'm there.
