They rated Gareri as 3 stars and he now plays at Joe Walsh College and thus can say "Life's been good to me so far." I dont really trust the recruiting sites' star ratings for mid major level recruits. For example, I saw today that Ben Roderick is rated 2 stars by 247, but the people in the know in the state of Ohio would say he's better than that. I assumed we'd end up with something like two encouraging freshman and 3 juco/grad tranfer types. And then in year 2 we'd start to see if/how Boals and staff can bring in impact kids. McDay, Roderick, Price, Brown, and Foster? I've quickly gone from "my, who's going to play?" to "this is encouraging" to "this could be really fun to watch". I'm not on the inside of that stuff but I did see Vander Plas and McMurray earlier this week. They appeared to be leaving the Peden area, I'm assuming the weight room there. Dartis, Preston and BVP are three guys with what I would consider extensive MAC experience after starting several games already in their careers (in Jordy's case MANY). Murrell developed throughout the season as well and got more PT. If only 3 of Price, Foster, Ogbonda, Price, McDay Brown or Roderick can step up and provide starters minutes and production we are already then set up to compete for middle of the MAC. BOOK IT! Of course being optimistic of Boals and this group I would think Price, Roderick and McDay along with Ogbonda will be ready to step in with our returnees right away. But...that's why they play the games!
