I just love the way CBS Sports Network covers college basketball. Just watched the Patriot League Final. At halftime, they actually talk about the game. Went back out for the trophy presentation. They actually give attention to the events they broadcast. Whereas ESPN broadcasts are just a commercial for the next Duke/UNC game.

CBS is probably my favorite brand of televised college basketball.

Their jingle alone gets me every time as it reminds me of one of my favorite times of year.

I'm so glad that ESPN doesn't have the rights to tournament coverage. I know that CBS does show a lot of their games on cable affiliates but you can at least watch a game on their normal, anyone with a TV and proper antennae network and usually all of the ones with local interest (Xavier, Cincinnati, Ohio State, Kentucky etc. here where I live).

The Bobcats have always been on CBS Channel 12 in the years they've been in.

Something seems wrong to me that you have to have cable (or a streaming service nowadays) to watch most of the major college football bowl games.

Agree on CBSSports and their coverage of MAC football and basketball games.

Anything is better than having Tony White doing color commentary during the quarterfinals on ESPN+. I might be in the minority on here, but I enjoy having Michael Reghi do the play-by-play. He's a long-time ambassador for MAC sports.

My favorite line last night by White came during the second half of the NIU-UT game: "Coach Montgomery is an emotional coach who coaches with emotion." The only fans of White on BA should be Pataskala and buck.cat - for different reasons.

Lipscomb will be in the NIT. The A-Sun is too poorly ranked to get them into the big dance. I was in Florence AL the day A-Sun champs Liberty played North Alabama a few weeks back. Bear in mind U.N.A. just became D-1 in sports this year. It was a close game. I wasn't sure when the season started if U.N.A. would even win a single league game. They went 7-9. Example of how crappy the A-Sun is. At this rate, UNA will be league champions by two more seasons and then everybody on selection Sunday can freak out over it and have to explain who the purple Lions of UNA are.

But if the N I T can rig it to where a big name school like Indiana has to go play Lipscomb in their nice fairly new arena, the Nashville sports media might even report on it between NHL hockey, Bryce Drew's scolding hot seat, Titans free agency moves, and Belmont if they make the big dance. If Belmont gets snubbed, they are in the same boat. They will need a visit from somebody like Indiana. A visit from Duquesne won't draw.

I always liked CBS sports too. However, I do not have that included in my package. As much as I dislike ESPN I woud think the championship gam of MAC tourney deserves a wider audience than CBS sports.

The men's game is on ESPN2 tomorrow evening. The women play on CBS-Sports at noon tomorrow. The power conferences all had their women's final lat weekend so it could find time on TV and clear the same arena for the men this week. Almost none of the women's finals this week, competing with half the conferences having men's finals this weekend, are getting their final on TV. I cannot complain about that.

The crying shame is that Indiana, yes INDIANA, is a #1 seed in this, and Lipscomb is playing on the road at Davidson.

Buffalo is a six seed in their region. Is that the highest seed ever for a MAC team (or at least since the field went from 32 to 64)?

Also, only two Ohio schools this year. No Xavier, no Dayton, no Ohio MAC school.
