9 minutes, 4 points last night in a blowout loss at Nebraska. Didn't see it, obviously, but I assume his minutes were likely in garbage time.

Isn't arithmetic a "branch" or "form"of mathematics.

And doesn't it start with an R? Along with readin' and ritin'?

With apologies to Jeff Foxworthy:
If you think ritin' and rithmetic start with a "r",you might be a redneck.

If arithmetic isn't math.
What is it ?

Yes, arithmetic is a branch of mathematics, but the words are not synonymous, which is the way they are often used. Mathematics is a much broader field. You can be good at many other areas of math -- calculus, algebra, etc. -- but not be that great in arithmetic. Mathematics is more about theory and arithmetic is more about numbers.

Webster's defines the two this way:

Arithmetic is "a branch of mathematics that deals usually with the nonnegative real numbers including sometimes the transfinite cardinals and with the application of the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to them."

Mathematics is "the science of numbers and their operations, interrelations, combinations, generalizations, and abstractions and of space configurations and their structure, measurement, transformations, and generalizations."

As long as this thread is, it will still never reach 33 page status.

While that may be true, I'm not entertained by reciting the situation Jaaron is in after every game that Michigan plays, and whether or not he got minutes or points.

A lot of people would say who cares? I am not entertained with tos to every university. At least this is current and has relevance to this years Bobcat team.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

This thread is disgusting imo and a detriment to Ohio University. I have no earthly idea what it is still allowed to continue so that adult boys can gloat over this young man.

Well, according to the poll, only 13 people voted to actively root against him, so keep in mind there are 83% here that don't actively root against him. 83% of anything is a pretty good number. It's like more than 8 out of 10.

At 2-19, we may very well have a TOS to Bryant thread before long.

Hey, I've been hoping he has a big game and gets more minutes. And it's not an update after every game, it's usually like every other game or once a week.

And like I said earlier in this thread with nearly double the views as any other thread on page 1, if you don't want to read about it, don't click on it. Reading about how much people don't like reading it reminds me of the people who scream "stop putting Lavar Ball on ESPN!" who click on every video involving him and watch.

Umm....it's a message board and the last time I checked...we live in the United States of America. Dude made a bad decision for his playing career moving forward, but he'll get to watch his team play in the NCAA Tournament. Being apart of March Madness was a big factor in his decision...that's what he said as he dribbled out the clock and walked out the door. Good for him.

Watched the first half of their game on ESPN last night against Purdue. Got yanked from the game immediately after he got stripped going to the hoop. The camera followed him to the bench where Beilein chewed him out pretty good. I feel bad for the kid, he does not look happy. But apparently he wasn't happy here either.

I don't think it was a matter of "not being happy" here.

I would say it's a simple case of ego ... or people in his ear that gave him bad advice.

He thought he was "bigger" than Ohio and that he needed to go the B1G .... when in reality, he could have stayed at Ohio ... played 32+ minutes a night, averaged 20ppg, 8 assists .... and been an All-MAC performer and player of the candidate.

That would have MORE than enough got him an invite to the combine and other pre-draft stuff so he could chase he NBA dreams.

Instead poor, tiny little Ohio wasn't good enough for him ... so he needed to leave for the B1G where he is getting a reality check on where his skillset is.

I think it's obvious now he is bound for a career in Europe or the G-League at best. No shame in going overseas and making bank for 5-10 years. We'll see if his ego allows for that.

I agree with ya here. Ego had to have played a big part in this whole thing.

Here's an idea: why doesn't the NCAA allow players to play in summer leagues similar to baseball? Think it would allow kids to test their skills against players from different conferences and give scouts opportunities to see players in a different setting.

Agreed. What I think would be interesting (and there's no way to know) would be how much money this transfer cost him when it comes to an initial contract in Europe. Obviously, if he plays well overseas he'll make money down the road. That initial contract, though, might be a lot less for a Michigan bench warmer than a standout from the MAC.

Uhhh, there are summer leagues that players can play in. Ever hear of the Worthington Summer League? Leagues just have to be sanctioned by the NCAA which is not hard.

Learned something new today. Checked a few of them out and they seem pretty legit. Have we sent anybody to any of these leagues recently? Always saw our guys in Athens during the summer doing workouts.

AT one time the Worthington summer League was the shit! Some of the biggest names used to come in to play. Used to love watching Trent dominate the competition in the post.
