I've become more in Armani's camp over the last few weeks. I mentioned elsewhere that he was a couple dropped passes away from an 8 of 10 day and had a TD pass called back when Amburgey was blocking five yards in the end zone. We're still a bit one-dimensional with him, but less so than we were earlier in the season.

Last week he had 2 dropped as well or he would have been 15-18. The platooning of Rogers and Rourke was all but telling the defense what we were going to do.

I'm sorry but players blow a 21-0 lead. What I have seen from Albin and the Chipmunks has been less than average. That said, punch them in the mouth and come out 21-0 and lose! Players. Own it.

Same staff Frank had. Maybe it’s we just aren’t that good.

Can you imagine what it must be like in the locker room for this team? How do you keep them motivated? Focused? Not wanting to transfer?

IMO, we have some of the best receivers in the MAC yet we cannot protect the QB enough on a consistent basis to throw, so we run the ball 90% of the time and become one dimensional.

Lots of excuses being thrown around for why the season is playing out the way it is...injuries, penalties, lack of discipline, poor coaching, blah blah...but unfortunately no one cares or feels bad for us.

Would things really be different if Frank was head coach this year?

...sigh...

Here goes…I have been watching OHIO football since 1965 or so. The first quarterback I remember was Ron(I think) Deluca a rugged QB who led Ohio at a game in Cincinnati against Xavier(when they had football). Since then I have witnessed the good, bad and ugly. This is the ugly. My fear is Bo Schembecler’s (Miami coach before going to Michigan) statement is true: Ohio can play football until hell freezes over and they will never be MAC champions (because we got one thanks to a Kent forfeit).

My prayer for Ohio football is: please break this jinx and find OHIO a good, hungry, and charismatic young assistant who leads us to one Mid American Conference championship before he leaves and I die. My time is running out so this needs to happen soon! Amen.

FWIW, Armani's 99-yd run led off ESPN's College Football Final tonight.

And Buffalo's GWFG was next.

Followed by UConn's signature win over Yale.

My memory of the Schembecler quote is: "They can play football in Athens until hell freezes over, and Ohio still won't deserve the MAC Championship."

Yes, something needs to be done and soon. The wheels are coming off the wagon.

He's a gem, too bad he doesn't have a supporting cast and coaching staff that knows how to maximize his talent.

And YPC against CMU was almost 15 and YPA was just under 11. Today YPC was 15 and YPA was 7.5. Without the dropped passes numbers a bit better.

And 7.5 an attempt is not good.

“Deserves” may be more likely OCF, I don’t know the exact quote. Bottom line is whatever he said we haven’t won a championship since.

If I’m a scholarship player on this team, the way we’ve played through the first half of the season, I REALLY do NOT want to test my stock in the transfer market.

I can honestly say, without one shred of doubt in my mind, that Tim Albin is the worst head coach I have ever seen at any level of football. I'm not even kidding or exaggerating. I've never seen a coach get less out of a team than he's getting out of these Bobcats.

Sadly we all know that it didn't have to be this way. Coach Albin has been here for years and you can't wish away incompetence. Coach Solich had a health scare and seemingly cajoled, pleaded whatever the case for Coach Albin to get the job. A fairly new AD probably felt strong armed into this deal. Into this leadership vacuum, we had a new university president come on board during Albin's tenure. A perfect recipe for disaster. We could be living with the results of this snowball effect of lack of leadership for years to come. As to those who say Coach Bryant was worse, no way Coach Bryant didn't have near the talent and recent success that came into the program that Coach Albin inherited. I have said it before, and I will say it again; a top tier program can get back on it's feet in short order after a disastrous hire, a mid major cannot.

I've spoken with some of my friends that understand College football a hell of a lot better than I ever will and they are very impressed with Coach A.'s ability to find ways to lose games.

Almost like Coach A. is an android that is programmed to lose at all cost.
Unfortunately, Coach A.'s program failed to account for how horrendous Akron was as an opponent.

We should be 3-0 in MAC play (2-1 with the CMU curse thing) and the bottom line is that we should be in contention to win the MAC East. BUT we are not in contention, because our coach is sh!t.

Not to say we are close to being good just that the MAC East is that BAD.

Anyway it really doesn't matter who is coaching or how good of a team is on the field. The Cats are going to find ways to not get to Detroit or lose if and when we get there.

As much as I HATE OSU think I am going to wear and OSU hat to the KSU game in protest to our suckiness (want to wear a bag, but wife thinks that is too much).

Finally, congrats to Coach A. in advance for ending our bowl eligible streak!!!

GO 1-7 CATS!

If Frank was coaching this talent, we may be pushing Cincinnati for a playoff spot.

For a minute I thought that I was on the basketball forum. A "fist pump" at Hurlwy would not be described as "childish," but instead would be cited as showing his great level of competiveness and enthusiasm. Fan boards can be very fickle!

If Tony doesn’t get hurt, a completely different outcome.
