Not surprised ESPN didn't catch it. Announcers calling the game from home. Directors seem to have robotic cameras. Nobody on the sideline to find out what's really going on. It's nice to have the games televised but if they're not sending crews to the site, it would be better to have the Russ and Rob audio feed. I'm not sure the announcers even identified themselves.

Ummmm, the ESPN guys did catch it I believe. They identified who they thought was guilty. And as far as identifying themselves, they did at least 3 or 4 times. Doug Sherman and Tyoka Jackson, who played 12 years in the NFL, after playing for Paterno at Penn State. Jackson also implied he may get dinner uptown after the game. I'm guessing you listened to Russ and Rob.

Does anyone know what happened with Tuggle and why he didn't play in the second half?

And if no Tuggle, then where are Julian Ross and Walter Wilbon III? Injuries have both sidelined all season?

He was in on the 2 point conversion play but that's all I recall.

Flip question is why Allison didn't play at all in the first half. Neatherton was in the few plays Tuggle was out.

No, but maybe they identified themselves during halftime and at then end. I didn't watch either of them. Those Eli Manning pieces are lame.

And telling us who they thought it was based on body language or who it wasn't based on where the ref was pointing isn't helpful. If it had happened at any "P" team game they'd have six cameras and three reporters on top of it. They used to have a student sideline reporter at G5 games but I guess ESPN can't afford that because of all the money they're paying the SEC.

PLAY OF THE GAME

When CMU had a red zone 3rd down and about seven in the 3rd quarter and direct snapped to the running back who flipped it to a reversing scrawny wideout who barreled over two tacklers and scored six. Make the tackle and there goes 4 points.

Hats off to CMU. #7 he was a bull in the rushing department. I had to laugh when one linebacker took a shot at him from the side and the collision put the tackler to the ground while the ball carrier, unfazed, crashed ahead for more.

Julian Ross was not dressed. He was on the sidelines jawing at the refs.

Allison was held out of the first half for disciplinary reasons.

Just a terrible last series on offense. The "read" option was not fooling CMU all afternoon...so of course we go back to it when we had our backs to the wall.

I was impressed with number 14 at corner. Broke up a pass in the end zone by looking back and finding the ball which none of the other corners do. He was rewarded by being taken out and replaced by a shorter corner back. Central ran the same play on that guy and the receiver made a great catch. Bottom line we need corners that are taller and they can find the ball when it’s in the air.

I thought we looked better and respectable. Still terribly coached which shows in special teams and timing of mistakes/penalties. However, our guys made plays yesterday. Liked what I saw from Rodgers and the offensive gameplan wasa better.

If we have better special teams, we win that ballgame.

What a day at the Convo.....Wow!

Did this jawing from a senior "leader" result in an untimely unsportsmanlike penalty late in the game? Asking for a friend.

Arkley says it was likely him, but it's not confirmed by anyone on the team. The ESPN guys said it might be Tuggle -- based on body language -- but since Tuggle was in uniform if it had been him the ref would've/should've announced his number since another one would've gotten him ejected. Since no number was called -- the foul was on the "bench" -- it's logical that it wasn't someone in uniform. And Albin's comments about "the young man" is a strong indication that it's a player, not a coach or some other staffer.

I just watched the Alfred Hitchcock classic “ The Man Who Knew Too Much”, where the song is featured. I also sang the song last night on a gig.

Que sera, sera . . . future tense

It is what it is . . . present tense

It is what it ain't . . . present imperfect tense

It ain't what it is . . . present pluimperfecit tense

The first two are tautologies in one degree or another, and are of no real substance.

The last two involve multidimensional thinking and require a suspension of reality.

Ok he called unsportsmanlike like. He had the option of a warning so the players could decide the game not him.

If it was an undressed player that caused the penalty, players did decide the game.

We played better. Better than I expected. But the result was exactly what I expected. It's homecoming tradition. Up 7 in the 4th, I told my wife "This is setting up perfectly for a heartbreaking late loss." I've seen it happen too many times to not expect it.

Highlight of the game for me was the young lady who fell down the stairs behind me while on the phone. She didn't drop the phone, good phone security. She maintained possession through the fall. Then she bounced up and told whoever she was talking to, "I almost fell." lol

He did warn the player, and it was the players response that received the UNS. Well warranted penalty.

Billy, thanks for that clarification. If someone mouthed off and was warned then mouthed off more, I agree, he deserved it. I didn’t know anyone was warned all I heard was the UNS call.

I disagree. "que sera sera" implies you are accepting of the outcome. You certainly try your best, but you accept the result. Isn't that life?

Accepting the outcome of future events does not change the fact that the statement is at its core vacuous. On a connotative level, it is also somewhat fatalistic, and implies that the future is out of your control.

What would you say about accepting the outcome of something you have no control over, such as a football game in which you are merely a spectator?
