The best webcast I think I ever saw was an OHIO@BSU football game about ten years ago. All they had was about two cameras and stadium sound. The only voice you heard, other than fan noise, was the PA announcer. Made you feel like you were really at the game, and I didn’t miss the announcers one bit. How hard would it be to do something like that? And, those so inclined, could tune in Russell and Co. on the radio.

He's in the building in street clothes, so thankfully not Covid or other sickness, presumably.

Boals didn't mention him in Russ' pregame interview, and Russ specifically asked him about the team's health.

Told you about BG. They're pretenders. Preston isn't even playing and they've been down by double digits most of the half. They're weak, so overrated.

Must be true. I mean, golly, we've never had a lead against them at half before.

Let’s see..Ohio up ten at the half and BGSU MAC Player of the Year candidate Justin Turner had zero points. If you did not think that Turner would not get double digits in the second half and that we would not struggle to hold on without Preston I’m not sure what to tell you. You did not need to have a crystal ball to realize BGSU would make a serious run in second half.

Two tough games to start MAC and learned a lot. Will be fine by March.

If Preston plays this game, Ohio wins. And if these two meet and play in the MAC Tournament, I'll go up against any straight up bet that says BG wins.

Exactly. No one wants to play Ohio in the MAC Tournament. Especially BG. They can't win the MAC Tournament no matter who they play anyway.

Just by chance, I'm sure we'll eventually beat them, but they fu**ing own us. with or without Preston. Your bluster is almost as misplaced as it is for your football predictions.

My comments are based on the stat sheet since the game was not on TV and viewable.
The difference today between these 2 teams came down to coaching.

Boals was simply out coached today.

When BG's best 2 scores were not hitting their shots in the 1st half, he changed the strategy and called for driving to the hoop. The team responded and with their 78% FT entering the game they won the game at the line. Smart move.
On our side we continue to show that we are not mentally tough. We just don't have the drive to increase our intensity and energy level.
I doubt that the end result would have been any different if Preston was available.
I want to believe that since we are now into a more normal schedule of games we will be able to iron out those areas where the teams needs to improve.

Do you mean he was asked a question about it and didn't answer or that it just wasn't brought up? Either way, it seems a little concerning that he didn't mention it in the injury report before the game and didn't talk about it after the game either.

BG scored 53 points in the second half. That's a broader problem than Preston being out. The last three games, all losses, Ohio has given up 81, 90, and 83 points. Their defense has been bad and they've been outrebounded in all three games, as well.

I've figured it out. You're Andy Katz. You wrote the "Ohio Has It" article didn't you? No wait, you wrote the Sports Illustrated article about Frank and the "Next Boise."

What does it matter where it is? A foul is a foul. Sorry to be snarky but I never got the home court advantage on fouls. It brings into the question the integrity of the officials.

Wow, not even January yet and BA has it's first "Ohio is the team no one wants to meet in the tournament" boasting. Happens every year. . . just didn't expect it this soon.
