Oh, I almost forgot. Looking at Ball State's roster, they have a 6'3" starter who is Hilliard Darby's all time leading scorer and rebounder. Wonder how serious of a look we gave her.

Their roster also lists their star big, Oshlynn Brown, as being from Chillicothe. Junior Ella Skeens, also from Chillicothe.

Skeens is a product of Southeastern HS and Brown from Chillicothe

Southeastern HS, located in Chillicothe.

No, actually SE is NOT located in Chillicothe. It’s located in Ross County, but not in Chillicothe. Chillicothe has 1 High School.

Contact Ball St so they can update their roster page. Also notify Google.

If I had never been there, what address would I put in my GPS to get to Southeastern HS?

I will bet you $100 that the school is NOT in Chillicothe incorporated limits.

That address is based off what post office serves it. The school itself, is rural county, which was built a few years ago and moved to the very edge of the district. The demographics that make up SEHS has no resemblance of Chillicoth.

I never said it was in the corporate city limits. I know where it is. It's the same as me living in Athens. I live in Athens. I don't live "in the city" but that doesn't mean I don't live in Athens.

Getting pretty heated up eh? What's the point?

Tell Matt Painter he is not from Muncie. Yep he is a Delta kid "out in the county" but he still lists Muncie and not Royerton. Address is Muncie and not DeSoto, Eaton or Albany which is where most DEltA kids come from. All those kids from Wapehami, Cowan, Delta, Wes Del, that have played D1 ball listed Muncie as their hometown. Our county schools do not list the city association like the OHSAA does and the county schools do not resemble the population of Muncie schools much so I get that part but the actual listing in the OHSAA is

OHSAA ID: 1450
County: Ross School Type: PUBLIC
OHSAA District: Southeast
OHSAA Tournament Name: CHILLICOTHE SOUTHEASTERN
HyTek Code: CHSE
School Colors: BLUE / WHITE
Primary Athletic Conference: Scioto Valley Conference

Just like Casstown Miami East, Tipp City Bethel, Glouster Trimble, Maria Stein Marion Local.....

Knowing all the OHSAA stuff you do I am surprised this is a hill you choose to defend.....

Good for Matt Painter. Knowing Ms Skeens the way I do, she likes that she’s from Southeastern, not Chillicothe. And again, the fact that educated people do not understand that address posted is all about the post office that serves the location. They receive no city coverage or protection, nor do they pay city taxes living out there. And not heated at all.

Happy that you know Ms Skeens the way you do. She filled out the form as do all the athletes when they get to school for the SID. You are going to plant your flag and defend it. Great for you. Even with the citation from the OHSAA that lists the OHSAA tournament name you are going to die on that hill. Good for you. It is a silly argument in the end that you have chosen to defend. The point that we all already know, they are a county school and are a seperate district is not at question. That they are listed by the OHSAA as Chilli is pertinent and germaine. Athens is listed as The Plains Athens.

I grew up reading my Pops OHSAA magazines so I know most schools by their full names. Lima Bath, Ottowa Glandorf, Amanda Clearcreek. When I found out my wife had gone to her freshman year at "Carroll Bloom Carroll" she corrected me. Chilli Southeastern is just what they are so SIDs doing their job are going to say they are from Chillicothe when folks look up on a roster to see a players Bio. Just putting down Southeastern or Fairfield Union does not let the reader know where they are from..... I will let the SID and the OHSAA folk know you are not happy with the assertion that "Southeastern is most definitely NOT Chilli" and that they should change how they do things Mr Quixote. Maybe that can be your next screen name.

It’s actually Southeastern Rural School District is its legal charter. Their school letterhead does not say Chillicothe Southeastern. Why is it so horrible to give the actual school some credit and publicity. Have a great day and remembe4 to always wear your helmet.

OK, so back to women's basketball. Ohio is hosting Western Michigan (3-12, 2-11 MAC) today. Even if Johnson isn't playing, it's a game Ohio should win, though it was a 69-63 struggle a few weeks ago (also without Johnson) when the Bobcats trailed most of the game and needed 38 points from Hooks to rally.

Ohio is two back of Bowling Green but still has one at home against them, and the Falcons still have some other tough games (Central Michigan, Kent State and Buffalo als). Really will be interesting to see how the standings shake out ahead of the MAC Tournament, which it seems could be won by virtually any of the eight teams that makes it.

Was tied at halftime and close still in middle of 3rd, but Ohio ran way with it after that 74-52. Hooks had 29 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Mace had a nice game with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Burris had 11 points and 6 rebounds. Hale was 4 for 4 and scored 10 points. Garnett continued to be effective with 6 points and 5 rebounds in 17 minutes. Bambule and Kroll were a bit off but wasn't an issue against Western Michigan.

Next 3 games are tough ones: Wednesday vs. NIU, then a week off before hosting BG and then at Buffalo.

I was hoping for continued geography and zoning lessons from Billy...

Solid win today, need to keep getting W’s any way they can until Erica can get back. Still no word on the severity of the injury or a timetable?

On broadcast Marty indicated she's possible for Wednesday but might sit out one more game as doing so would give her another week to heal before the next game.

I somehow came across this interview with Amani Burke today on YouTube that appears to have been done several months ago. Very interesting. Talks about the interest (or lack of same) she experienced in recruiting, the good times and the difficult she experienced in Athens, being unable to complete her senior year because of covid. Amani really opened up, and she proudly wore an Ohio basketball t-shirt for the interview.

Tomorrow's game at Buffalo becomes the third in a row to be cancelled due to COVID issues with the Ohio roster. Only two games left on the regular season schedule right now - at Akron next Wednesday and at home versus Miami next Saturday.

Those are two winnable games even if Ohio is not at full strength. Hopefully the Bobcats can get in a couple games before the tournament.

With the new possibility of fans in attendance per Dewine after March 1, what are the chances there can be limited fans for the home game vs Miami?

Decision will be up to the local health department and the University administration, not an athletics decision.

I received an email today that said due to my purchase of a virtual sell-out-the- Convo ticket I may have up to 4 tickets for Saturday. I asked for three and received a reply with a link to 3 tickets (QR codes) for section 206.

Happy that my dad, daughter and I get to attend at least one game this season in the Roundhouse.

Go Bobcats.

Not only is Johnson not playing, apparently Caitlin Kroll is out too. Going six deep and down 13 to lowly Akron at the half.
