I thought that either all of the crossover games would be the first week to act as the tune-up game for the division or all of them would be in the final week so that they could be cancelled and replaced with a missed division game if required. The former is the case. So what are the odds of every division game actually happening? What will they do to determine the winner if they are not all played?

Given what we've seen so far this fall and that covid appears to be ramping up across the Great Lakes area, I think the odds of every game being played are pretty long. College football has been averaging about five postponed games each week, and that's without half the 1A conferences playing. I haven't seen anything about how winners will be determined if some teams don't play a full schedule, but my guess is they'll use winning percentage for all conference games. That's what some other conferences are talking about using.

I think Ohio will win the East and I do think OU will win the MACC. It also wouldn't surprise me to see Rogers emerge as a POY candidate.

Yeah, but you sort of say that every year.

Rogers hasn't even played a down in an Ohio uniform and we're talking POY candidate? Cmon guys. Beat CMU on the road first. Then we can talk.

It's not like he's a true frosh. The kid has played THREE years of FBS football and was the Frosh of the Year in the Mountain West. He's a proven and talented player. Thinking he could possibly be a POY candidate in the MAC is hardly a far-fetched idea.

The Athens Health Dept evacuated Boyd Hall this week after 19 students tested positive for Covid. https://www.athensnews.com/news/campus/health-department-...

In all likelihood, the students were infected through contact with off-campus students, since up to now off-campus students accounted for the vast majority of infections in the county. This works against the university allowing at fans at games, especially the general public.

Three years where he only completed 50% of his passes and had a TD/INT ratio of 1.5.

He is talented, but #1, is not even guaranteed he will start and #2, we have no idea how good he'll be until we seem him play in this system.

I HOPE he is good. Just like I HOPE Ohio wins a MAC title. Go out and prove it. Because Ohio just had their best QB in program history (according to some on here depending on your unit of measurement) and even he didn't win POTY.

With only one crossover game per team the season depends more than ever on winning games in the division. That should give Ohio and Fiami an edge because they're the only two teams with winning records within the division over the past four years:

Ohio 16-4
Fiami 14-6
Buffalo 10-10
Akron 7-13
BG 7-13
Kent 6-14

And over the past two seasons, Fiami is 9-1 against the East while Ohio is 8-2 (Buffalo is the only other East team with a winning record against the division in that time (6-4)). Ohio's only losses were to Fiami.

And 2 less conference games this year puts more added pressure on not having a slip up game vs someone we should probably beat.

If this game does get played the Bobcats will not lose to BG. Maybe Kent or Miami or the Bulls, but not BG.

A bit O.T.

The NCAA made it official.

They have waived all win requirements for bowl eligibility for this season.

The Holiday Bowl was cancelled yesterday, which makes four so far (Bahamas, Hawaii and Redbox), so that leaves 37 bowls. Expect the New Mexico Bowl to go down as well, given the covid issues in that state. Probably others as well.

According to CFN, the MAC has five tie-ins left: the Spud and Arizona bowls (both vs MWC), Camellia and Lending Tree (both vs Sun Belt), and Quick Lane (vs B10). The MAC is also in the pool for spots in the Cure, Frisco, Myrtle Beach and Boca bowls. And there are at-large openings in the Mobile and Independence bowls vs G5 teams.
