Ok, so we wait until the "Spring" and play football. If we still have social distancing and limited to no public attendance at the games what makes the difference between then and now? Seriously, just play a shortened season starting at the end of October or early November and close the chapter on 2020 MAC football. BTW, take a close look at what the Big-10 has come up with regarding restarting football this Fall. It has built in procedures to close the season back down if Covid becomes an issue. To me that makes sense. Either you play or if Covid becomes an issue just shut the season down and go into 2021 focusing on the Fall football season. As someone else has stated, if basically every other FBS conference has Fall football, or if the MWC and/or the PAC-12 resume Fall football, why can the MAC not do the same?

Just posing the question -- not sure of the actual numbers -- but I'd assume that playing football, especially with empty stadiums, will cost more for the University than not playing.

In other words, the financial considerations are much different for the MAC than the Big 10. Not playing costs the Big 10 money; in our case, the reverse may be true.

Again my question is what is the difference between playing in an empty Peden Stadium in the Fall or in the Spring? Just get the football season over with. Make it a shortened all conference schedule and move on.

Spring gives us a chance -- maybe a slim one -- to get TV money. Sounds like fall TV slots have been filled. You're also assuming no fans in the spring; much greater chance of fans in the spring than fans next month.

However, if they just ignore Covid like the SEC is doing, they will not need those safety measures ;-)

According to sports radio out here the PAC12 Board of Directors has given the go ahead for Fall football.

Apparently one issue to be addressed is a sign off from local health officials.

ESPN says the vote will come next Thursday with a projected start sometime before Jan 1. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/29916714...

We will get by.
