I didn't think I would be sitting here on 11/16 waiting for a hoop game to start. Mainly because I didn't expect Boals to have the team playing pretty good ball this soon.

I didn't think we were a 10 win team but I sure didn't think we would be 4-6.

Major disappointment for a lot of reasons.

Oh well... let's try to get 6 wins and see what happens.

I am really not that concerned due partly to BG being soooo bad.

C'mon, my beloved fellow Bobcats. We lost four games by three points or less, and we could easily be sitting at 8 and 2 right now. Yes, the team has disappointed this year, but these kids made it competitive, and they thus kept it close. They didn't quit on us, so why should we quit on them? The next couple of games are for Pride. I would like to see the Seniors on this team go out on a high note, and thus teach the underclassmen that Bobcats never quit. Yes, serious adjustments are going to need to be made between now and next season, but, for now, this season has yet to be completed. Let's get after Bowling Green and then Akron. Go 'Cats.

We will be able to see what pride there is for this season. Considering Miami just completely annihilated a 3-7 BGSU and BGSU has a short week, anything less than a victory and the Bobcats will have quit.

Coaches should have them ready as they likely were able to scout the Falcons in person last Wednesday. Albin will have seen how Miami was able to lay 44 on them and have an ideal game plan to do similar. Senior QB, maturing wideouts, healthy running backs and the offense should roll.

Go Bobcats, beat BGSU!

Unfortunately, we're also a missed chip-shot field goal by Buffalo away from being 3-7 ourselves. They say that good teams find a way to win the close ones, so I guess we're not a good team yet. And Fiami put 44 on them at home. BG has been flat-out horrible on the road. All three of their wins were at home, and they're 2-1 in the MAC at Doyt. We're 2-0 on the road in MAC games, so that's a plus for us.

I wish this game were played on paper because statistically we are so much better than they are. About the only stats where BG has the advantage are in sacks for, sacks against, and of course interceptions. Can we paper the field before hand? But the big intangible here is that it's their senior night. We managed to muck up our senior night. Maybe we can muck up theirs.

We will get by.
We will get by.
We will get by.
We will survive.

BG is horrible. They’ve been horrible for four years now. They went for the penthouse in 2013-15 to the outhouse the last four years. Ohio will shred BG and the Falcons don’t stand a chance in this one.

BG is a horrible place to play this time of year, with windchills likely to be below zero and wind gusts up to 25 mph or more swirling around the stadium. I think point spreads are somewhat meaningless. I know the weather forecast is for nicer weather than that. I don't believe it. When it comes to Doyt Perry Stadium, it has a weather pattern all of it's own, and it defies accurate prediction. Believe me, we'll have to play hard and smart to win. Go OHIO!

It doesn’t matter one bit what the weather is going to be like, BG has to play in it too. Ohio will kill this lousy team in wind, rain, snow, sun, you name it.

As an alum of both BGSU and Ohio I get invited by both schools to watch this game: here is an interesting read in this year’s e-mail:
The Bowling Green State University Football team hosts the Ohio University Bobcats this Tuesday (Nov. 19) at 7:30 p.m. inside Doyt L. Perry Stadium.

BGSU is 40-28-2 all-time against Ohio but the Bobcats have won each of the past three meetings including a 48-30 victory in 2017 – the last time the teams met in Doyt L. Perry Stadium.

In recent years, most games in the series have been blowouts. Five of the last six meetings (in which the teams have split 3-3) have been decided by 18 points or more. While Ohio won 49-14 a year ago, the Falcons won 62-24 in 2015 and 49-0 in 2013.

BGSU is 19-8 in games in November going back to 2012, including a 35-6 win over Akron to open this November. In three of the past four years, BGSU lost just one game in November and the Falcons went a perfect 4-0 in 2013 leading into a MAC Championship victory over undefeated Northern Illinois.

Ohio is just 12-13 in November since 2012, which includes a pair of three-point losses this November, 24-21 to Miami and 37-34 (OT) to Western Michigan. Four of the Bobcats' six losses in 2019 have been by a field goal or less.

If you didn't know any better and based this game on the overall record and where they stand in the standings, you'd see an Ohio team that is 4-6 overall, 3-3 in the MAC going on the road facing a BG team that is 3-7 overall, 2-4 in the MAC. It would appear to be a decent matchup on paper. However, despite the two teams being separated by just one game, they couldn't be farther apart. Ohio was right in 5 of its 6 losses and without a doubt had chances to win 4 of those games (including all 3 MAC games which were all decided by only 3 points), while BG was simply destroyed in all 7 of its losses and had no shot whatsoever. Ohio is going to shred BG and will destroy Akron next week to become bowl eligible at 6-6 overall, 5-3 in the MAC.

ESPN has us as 20.5 pt favorites.

Anyone out there know another game where we were favored by this many points?

6-6 and then make a bowl game marketing Rourke under center. Bobcat fans are going to be surprised where Ohio ends up.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl

I really strongly dislike Bowling Green State University sports teams. Rebuilding or not, I hope we hang 60 on them. That is all.

That's actually the problem.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda.

The motto for this program recently.

2011 ... shoulda held on to a 20-0 halftime lead in MAC title game
2012 ... shoulda won at Miami as #23 and not lost last three games of regular season
2013 ... shoulda NOT lost by 27, 49 and 31 in back-to-back-to-back games as MAC faves
2015 ... shoulda NOT inexplicably lost by 35, 34 and 38 in back-to-back-to-back games
2017 ... shoudla beat Akron to win the MAC East
2018 ... shoulda beat Miami to win the MAC East
2019 ... shoulda beat Miami to win the MAC East

That's a lot! Using your logic ... Ohio should have about 7 MAC East titles and multiple MAC championships.

Problem is ... you can't. Reality is ... this program can't get over the hump with the current regime.

And the reality is, the current regime isn't going anywhere.

So, it's tough to get excited about a potential 6-6 finish and bowl bid. Don't get me wrong ... I'll be watching and will consider a bowl trip if it's do-able.

But these "could easily be" seasons are growing tiresome.

Get over the hump ... or get on with retirement. Groundhog day is getting old.

Fun Fact!

Ohio is 2-8 ATS this year ... 0-6 at home. Gross.

Good teams win ... great teams cover? Ohio isn't either this year. Yuck.

In comparison ... Ohio was 8-5 ATS in 2018

Shabamon....I do remember in one of Franks 1st couple of years when we played @ BG they ran up the score to 72. I think Clawson was the coach.
Even if this game gets out of hand I would doubt that Frank would run up the score, he's just not that sort of person.

Agree with most of what you said, minus the comments about the spread, which I'm not terribly concerned about. Haven't we had this conversation for about 4-5 years in a row at this point in the season?
