Sooooo salty when it's sent in your direction aren't you? And has to resort to calling people "saul-o-holics" when he doesn't get agreement from people about some random recruit.

Who did I specifically call a "Saul-o-holic"- ???

I was simply agreeing with those already using the term.

And just for the record, the program existed for 105 years before Saul arrived. He's barely a footnote in the big picture and anybody with 6700+ posts should be able to recognize that. Very sad if they don't. Where this blind loyalty to a now ex-coach comes from, is a mystery. It would be nice to see more people positive about the late Larry Hunter instead of worrying about the recent ex-coach who previously had no connection to Athens or the school or the basketball program.

My assumption is that you inferred that I was one, among others, after I made the comment about my amusement over your defensiveness over someone else questioning thoughts about one hypothetical recruit. My comment has less to do about Saul himself than your general tone and specific word choice on your comeback in this case.

It feels as though you think we can't like Saul and/or his family as human beings, AND be decent or respectful towards him or his recruits/former recruits, while also being excited for Boals and the future.

And before you make some snappy, subject changing comeback, yes, you have made constant (in my opinion unnecessary) jokes about Nate Springs (and others) for the last year. THAT is what I was referring to when I got a chuckle about your reply to longtimelurker about a hypothetical recruit.

Lastly, thread drifting.....regarding Larry, it would actually be nice to see some memorial to the late Larry Hunter done somewhere inside the walls of The Convo.

That’s enough to get a good pay day in MLB.

But with the dodging he likes to do, his on base percentage will be quite low, because he'll never stand in there to get hit by a pitch.

A person with over 6700 posts talking about (cough-cough) "clogging the board" - really? seriously? Sounds like they need to get a life. I feel sorry for them. Something has gone terribly wrong in their life. Hope things get better for them and they can work it all out.

Your reading comprehension is at an all time low greeny. I personally said nothing about "clogging the board". You just like changing the narrative and dodging others actual questions.

When you girls are done kissing, maybe the rest of us can see that this thread has new posts actually about our basketball team's next year roster.

As the initiator of this post, I'm wondering if I can withdraw it? Sure has wandered far away from the original intent to share information about prospective players for our Alma Mater.

+1

At any rate, ideally would like a couple more bigs if possible. If we can execute that a nice team is in store.

I'd love to hear news, if there is any, about the other 3-4 young men that were on campus last week and the prospects of any of them joining the fray for next season in The Convo.

Speaking of tall kids, what is the progress report on Saul's signee Springs?
How many minutes per game (other than vs Rio Grande) can he be counted on to contribute? I won't take sides here...just asking since tall kids are what seems to be in short supply.

OK, We have 2 remaining scholarships and no experienced big on the roster. What is the skinny out there. Is there a plan to get a big? Any visitors to campus? Any rumors?

Unless you know someone with "inside" information, I think the best you're gonna get right now is to listen to Boals' comments from the Dayton Caravan, and then the upcoming caravans in Lancaster and Columbus. Those are available via Ohio Bobcat Club's Facebook feed. You're also not going to hear anything this week, through the holiday weekend more than likely because it's a "dead period" for recruiting.

It would actually be nice to ANYTHING somewhere inside the walls of The Convo.

The trophy case when you walk in is nice ... and the Ohio stuff on the walls ... but as soon as you turn from the main entrance the rest of the arena is painted like an insane asylum with the bare white walls.

Color that thing up with some murals dedicated to the history of Ohio hoops ...

Take a walk thru the Cintas Center in Cincy .... Xavier did a great job "decorating" that arena's concourse with tons of X history.

Ohio has the history ... just a lack of splashing it throughout the arena.

That’s a terrific idea. It wouldn’t cost all that much to complete, either. There is no reason for this to be a missed opportunity.

I've put this info into my season ticket holder feedback each time they requested it. That includes the requested email feedback this spring right after Saul was non-renewed. The Convo is good. It could be great with a few small touches, as you say.

It's kind of like having a nice old historical house with "good bones" and then putting blue formica counters everywhere (when the color scheme of the house is green & white), and vinyl floors throughout with ugly wallpaper on the walls. It just needs some cosmetic TLC to be what it could/should be.

The new fancy center court board is a wonderful touch, but it's still kind of like putting a huge HD LED screen in that old historical house that needs TLC.

Boals mentioned in the Lancaster Caravan video they had a 6'10 kid on campus and are anxiously awaiting word on commitment. Sounds like the kid was here for two days.

Is there any way to get at last night's video if you're not on Facebook?
