Accurate reply and you know it. It’s funny in some threads we’ve been told to move on and let go. However, Saul’s defenders keep popping up in the attempt to make rewrite history. This program was pretty much dead and now it has life.

No. it was a dumbass response. I was and still am right. it's Saul's biggest detractors that are having the biggest trouble moving on. you can't say anything nice about a new recruit or coach without cutting down, and in most cases falsely, the previous coach and worse, some of our current players. Take your own advice and move on.

The jury is out on Boals, as it should be. What has he done as a D1 coach? Nothing more than Saul. We can re-visit this in a year or two. THINK before you post. Do you even have a OU degree? Doubtful ...

Saul has got some real live ones here, we have heard your protest. Boals is now the coach, let’s roll.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

What has Boals done

He has already put together a recruiting class that contains no lightly regarded scrubs that no other schools wanted anything to do with.

Saul on the other hand owns the two worst MAC records in Ohio Basketball since 1998 and two of the three worst since 1990. Look it up if you like.

Ohio Bobcats basketball has been around for 112 years. Saul's paltry results (his recruiting being the worst of it) will only exist as a small footnote in the archives. As the coach in the Hoosiers movie stated: "I hope you will support who we are, not who we are not." On April 27, 2019, Boals is who we are. Saul is who we are not.

Ha...Allen....Mid70s won't let it go. Judging Boals after one or two years? Are you kidding me? You can love Saul all you want, but with the mess he left behind, you can't judge Boals until after year 3 (three solid recruiting classes) and then you can make an honest opinion of where this program is heading. My god, you can argue the man inherited the worst dumpster fire in the history of Ohio Men's Basketball. This is not an overnight fix.

Saul had 3 out of 5 losing seasons and 1 post season appearance at OU. He could not recruit or coach at a level to keep up with the rest of the MAC. Tell me where I am being false and attempt to do that without using foul language or melting down.

Also, if you think Saul's defenders aren't still in full force, then you are not to be taken seriously.

You obviously haven't read this thread, and you obviously didn't pay any attention to my response. I stand by what I said. You're right. Saul's results aren't what anyone wanted. No one disagrees with that. and I don't think anyone has said anything negative about what Boals has done. But the braindead speculation about things people have no knowledge of or things that have been refuted by good sources are what I'm referring to. Many people on this thread are talking out of their asses.

Oops, I said "asses"... ooooohhhhh nooooo I'm melllltiiiiiiinnnnnggg (down)

I do have a life which is why I read this site maybe once a week. Your post speaks LOUD and clear that you know very little about college basketball. I deal with FACTS .. Boals head coach record is so-so. Any other intelligent questions?

And there were people on here who hated #hashtag-gate. I'd take that battle any day over this crazy debate... still I come and read and skip over the posts that don't interest me.

I am just pumped for this season- its going to be a tough one but there is energy now around the program. The debate on Saul vs. Boals isn't really fair- its really the AD who should be taking heat. He did not like Saul and probably for financial reasons left him to hang out in lame duck territory. THAT hurt the program immensely.

But that is done.. we have some very solid recruits coming in, I am looking forward to the potential and hope for the future.

I do not believe it's going to be a tough one. By tough if you mean we won't make the NCAA Tourney or maybe make it to Cleveland then yes, that's a distinct possibility. But if Dartis comes back even 50 percent, he's already better than Cowart. Then you add experience in Preston, Murrell and BVP. You're crazy if you don't know that Roderick, McDay and Price are going to make an impact. If you look at what teams lost in the MAC, we can have a better year than last year easily. Mark it down.

Oh absolutely I am all in on the impact of the youngsters. I am watching way too many HUDL and Youtube videos of these guys to be healthy! Dartis is the wild card because he can bring some experience that is needed. I think the tough part is the front court is a massive work in progress and that could lead to some unfortunate issues. I would be thrilled with getting to Cleveland and just on potential and the future alone IT WILL be a better year than last year.

Yanni Wetzell was visiting Texas Tech this weekend according to some reports. I don't think he's going to end up in Athens unfortunately.

He's a 6-10 power forward who played at St Mary's and Vandy. Rumor is San Diego State and TxTech have the inside track. He's from New Zealand and supposed to be a monster in tennis as well. I certainly don't want to try to return a serve from a power forward.

Soooooo, are we looking at having a shot at a player of this caliber now or are you just clogging the board with useless information? Did we have feelers out to him?

Some other poster said something a while back about him visiting (or that he was invited) or whatever. Matt Ryan who played at both Notre Dame and Vandy looks like his next stop is at ut-Chattanooga for a grad transfer year, thus mid-majors should never consider a guy out of reach. Look what Larry Austin did at CMU after flopping badly at a couple of major-majors.

If Yanni signs with Texas Tech after possibly having interest from Ohio, is that considered useless information? That would have to be in the eye of the beholder. If Boals is going after a guy who ends up at a school that just played in the final four, that would seem like a good statement about where his recruiting is headed compared to the previous coach.

Kind of. When you read the thread . Starts with a guess based on an Twitter post and proceeds to specualtion

It's a guess but based on Twitter. He's followed by all 3 announced coaches and has already announced he's transferring. Also meets the criteria of being lookup up at by Boals. Could be wrong but I was trying to figure out who these visitors will be and this is about the only thing I could even speculate on.

I'd also like to see Issa Muhammad on that list of visitors, nothing really indicates he will be though.

I've seen a hundred less relevant posts on here that you didn't spend a second of time on to gripe about, thus there must be something else bothering you. You should probably put me on ignore if there is such a feature available instead of clogging up the board with your worthless complaining. Info about potential transfers is more important any day than more and more "TOS to UCLA/Arkansas/Buffalo/Nebraska/Tulane/etc"

The next time you respond to one of my posts (which I hope will be never), the answer you get back will be quite a bit less polite. My advice to you, is stop following my posts.

I love it - the hater of the former coaching staff for 2-3 years, and basher of current red-shirted Ohio players, along with several recently departed players, gets defensive about something as trivial about being questioned about his line of thinking on a potential transfer we have little chance of recruiting.
