These Canadian teams are like lambs led to the slaughter. They often match up against teams they have no business playing anyway. Massillon Perry played two Canadian squads in their first three games went 8-2 and missed the playoffs. The early poundings caught up to them eh?
The Rourke kid is a big kid. I have stood next to him at Kent and one of the Maction games. A legit 6-4.

The one, West TorontoPrep, played 6 Ohio schools, all of them traditional powers, two of the best schools in Western PA, Brentwood Academy out of Tennessee and a school out of Maryland. Needless to say, they hung a donut.

So what is the incentive for them to cross the border and receive their beating? It seems scheduling them is on the AD when they cost you in playoff standings.

The incentive for the Canadian teams is that most of them are clubs that have some affiliation with a High School or a sanctioning body and the need for games. These games are also a cultural trip, OHIO and PA schools rarely play games in Canada (in fact I know of none who have ever made that trip), as for play-offs if you schedule the right one, they can be a boon for play-off points, and every school wants a good easy win on their schedule.

In Perry's case they happened to be in the toughest DII Region, their Harbin totals would have put them in the play-offs in the other 3 Regions, at no less than a #7 seed. However in their region their point total had them at #14, going 9-1 would have left them on the outside looking in as well.

Rourke’s highlights indicate they play Canadian rules. However, when those schools play in Ohio, they play OHSAA rules. So do these schools that travel outside Canada play Canadian rules half the season and American rules half the season? Or are there some strictly U.S. rules Canadian clubs?

Some play all games in the states by American rules (or more appropriately NFHS, which is the governing rules in 48 states), these teams are mostly clubs and or associated with prep schools. Some play by both sets of rules and then others just play strictly Canadian rules. At the end of the day, they all struggle when the cross the border.

Kurtis and his father stayed at the same hotel I did in Frisco. I thanked him for his commitment to OHIO this morning. Seems like a very humble young man who appreciated my thanks...and boy, is he TALL! I definitely believe he will be our tallest QB in recent memory. I'm eager to see his development in the Green and White...and BLACK.

The Few, The Proud, The Bobcats!

And for the record, I hate tOSU, and Ricordati and Torgerson are DB's.

Arkley reports an expectation of his early enrollment enabling him to participate in spring practice. So this spring/summer & fall there will be; Rourke N., Maxwell (???), Keszei, Mischler and Rourke K. all slinging footballs. In this group there will be leadership and competition.

Forgot all about Keszei. Six seems like a lot of QBs but looking at Div I rosters, I guess that's pretty normal.

Good size, poised, nice touch on his throws. Appears to have a very strong arm. Will need time to adapt to college game but he has all the tools.
Recruit classmate Jett Elad is originally from Mississauga a neighboring Ontario suburb. Elad played some/all of his high school career in Cleveland.

Seems like he has good escapability in the pocket much like his older brother. I also noticed his stats indicate he is more of a passer than a runner. That's what we need-- a quarterback can rely on the pass enough so that you can't predict when they are going to take off for a quick first down or touchdown.

I’m assuming Yates is no longer around because of his legal issues which have been reported.

colobobcat66. Thanks. A few clicks and I find he is a "former" Bobcat. I missed his troubles. If Mr. Maxwell transfers the group will be smaller, yet, still, I believe, capable. I am building confidence in coach Isphording, that QBs for Ohio will represent. I expect the views from your window are very fine this morning.
